Do you need a rebuild?
Steve infoemed me of you problem. I ahve aanother buddy who rebuilds the 700r4's, but steve told me that you needed it extra beefy (Bigger clutch packs?). The guys name is tony, I'll try and get him to come to the show this weekend and you guys can talk. Stves been boasting of this mean 406 (?) that you have, it's a shame I won't get a ride, lol.

Its a shame that you wont get a ride? lol, I can even ride the stinking thing, haha! I'm unsure what needs to be dont as of yet. I am going to try replacing the governor gear one more time, adjusting the TV cable again, and installing a new governor cap. Who knows, maybe this one was a fluke... Beats spending 500+ bucks on a stout re-build kit.

A cheaper buy
would be to buy the parts from a tranny shop. I talked to a shop on Veterans, they quoted me 650 for a high power rebuild, fat clutches, good servos, some high powered solenoids, a nice aftermarket valve body. That's not too bad really. I'd rather have Tony build mine for free though, lol

650 for the entire rebuild? Whats the name of the shop? I'm just sick of dropping money on this thing, I've spent wayyyyy too much on it over the years and at this point, its just gettig old. Hopefully this is my last major mechanical expense (well, before I decide on the Nawwwwsss

I tried, but he's scared. So far, I've gotten the "my car needs brakes" or, "I'm moving out of state soon for my new job".....
lol, Neil's a good guy and his car is pretty quick! We give each other crap back and forth. If I ever can afford gears and some tires, it should be a decent race between his car and mine. We still haven't really raced yet though.

I have the number somewhere...
I'll have to look for it, I got the quote before I did my motor swap (I was expecting a blown tranny shortly after). I'll tell you what, find out how much power you're making, and I'll talk to my boss and ask him about a rebuild (Pro Stock guy).

When someone says "bring their A-game", cause they are, that usually means to be ready for something that is going to happen.
I was messing with ya cause you said bring your A-game, that's all.

I don't know if I am going to bring my car up there. The oil pump is going out and it is starting to get really bad. Maybe but it will be a last minute decision. Either way I will still show up. Anyone wanna change it out for a lunch reward?

Man...you guys make me wish I was home. But think - my 87 will be there in spirit - and so will I. She's sitting at home awaiting my return - along with a bunch of parts

If
If I hear from Angel, I was gonna do it today. But, tommorow is just as good. What kind of oil pump do you have, internal or sump? I ain't changing no in pan pump, lol. That's quite a task there. I'd help you but.......... If I were you, I'd take it to a shop and ask them how much they'll charge. You can bring it to my shop next week, but......I can't do THAT job for free
. Sonar tells me it's a real pain in the ***. Did you dent your pan or somthing? OR is your pressure just real low?

What I did was remove the motor mount bolts and jack the engine up until the dizzy hit the firewall (and unbolted the tranny crossmember). I was able to snake the oil pan out that way

My pressure is really low when I am at an idle. Yesterday it started to go into the red so I, I had to sit with my foot on the gas so I could have enough oil pressure. I am not sure whether it is in the sump or just and internal. I know that it is in the rear of the oil pan. I'm gonna take it to the shop where I get all of my work done that I can't do they should be able to make me a deal.
Anyways sorry that I didn't make it last night a party came up and it was f****** awesome. I got some really hot girl's number.

Yeah, my new motor did that after about 500 miles. Wound up pulling the motor out and it wasn't the oil pump but the bearings on #1 and #2 started to get eat up and there was huge grooves in the crank. Don't know what caused it but I suspect it was turned wrong. I checked clearances when putting the motor together but who knows. I went ahead and ordered a new Eagle crank while I had the motor out and reused the oil pump. Since then, my pressure stays pegged at 60 when cold and drops down to maybe 40 PSI when at operating temp and idle, but pegs back out as soon as you tap the gas.

We got some video of Mike's car revving it up. Hopefully I will be able to import it soon and post it. I am still learning the ways of the video editor though
Here is me revving my car last week.

Sure Scott, we "believe" you!
Maybe one YEAR you'll be finished with it enough to drive a little further than arround the block.

Yes, I'm prepared to follow you home
(looking at the tail-lights of your car as it sits on the back of a tow truck). I'll be a nice guy and let you ride with me, so you dont have to ride in the stinky tow truck!

Good News. It wasn't my oil pump that was going out. It was the oil sending unit. Thank ***. It only cost 82 bucks to get it changed and I took it down to the shop at 1:30pm and got it back before 6:30pm. I am up and running again.

Thats good to hear.
Changing the pump would been a little more. Sending unit is just screwed on the housing. Not that big a deal.
