I will leave the name alone but I do plan to persuade more of its citizens to get rid of their Mustangs and get Camaros. GM has the majority of the truck market but Ford took over the sports car market. Thats what happens when you give fans of a brand nothing new to buy for eight years.

OKC Third Gens, there is a copmlete minus all glass 89 RS V6 Camaro off of 10th and Meridian being parted out. It is a V6 auto car with t tops. The t tops are in good shape and all the interior plastic is there. A ton of good parts for CHEAP! I got the drivers door and the caps for both door panels today for 100. Black car with black and grey interior. She is on craigslist. Happy hunting.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Ok guys I need some help.. I don't wanna get rid of this stuff because I need them but a family emergency came up. Does anyone need umi subframe connectors and a spohn lt1 t56 crossmeber and torque arm? I can only sell at retail price, however, if you buy from me there is no shipping. I really need to sell both because money from one is not enough.
Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Hello fellow ThirdGens. I just became a proud owner of an 84 Firebird (er 6 months ago) and finally decided to start working it over. I bought it cheap with a bad transmission and crappy interior. The car (Christine my GF calls her) sat for 7 years without even a wink. I put it in the garage to start the make over. This is what I've done so far.
1. Bought another 700r4 (1988 Chevy p/u donor, rebuilt and solid) and installed it.
2. Got two Quadrajets, one for install, other for (mods) installed.
3. Bought a distributor cap and ignition module, installed it.
4. Installed a new radiator, (with electric fan(Which is too small I think)).
5. Put in a used alternator (doesn't work) but I can fix, I believe.(Cheap)
6. Bought a really good battery (on the cheap)
7. Paid for a bunch of hardware to tie it together.
Would you believe after I dumped 5 quarts of tranny fluid, 6 gal of gas, fuel stabilizer, checked oil. It fired right up. I drove it down the street. Darn 305 (this one) is pretty tough and still doesn't smoke. There are still many problems left to solve including the non-working ignition switch (won't spin the starter, so I use a jumper for now).
I might be posting some new threads if my research fails for some of these issues. I can't wait to wire in the TCC hack.
Thanks, and See ya.

Hey Guys, newbie here. Looking to get up to date on third Gens, before I purchase one. I'm an avid car builder, was a chevy guy for awhile, built a 62 Nova and a 75 Camaro, but I've been in the ford scene here recently. Currently own a 98 Mark VIII with a Kenne Bell that I placed 2nd with at the Midwest Shelby Meet this year. Has a ton up Cobra swapped supporting mods, and somewhat quick for a grocey getter. Just finished a T-Bird that I've been cruizin daily, and just started on a 70 model Ford Truck... As you can see I need your help getting back to my roots and GM.
I'm located in Tulsa/BA area, would definitely like to meet a member or two. There's a Black Gen 3 with Corvette Wheels around here that is responsible for giving me the bug to start one if these beauties.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
NeedaGen3, that's some nice work on the Fords. I like the sporty looking luxo-barge there.
A local guy has one that he uses for autox and Hallet days. Surprisingly, the "Mark H8" does pretty well.
Parts, I don't suppose you could make a list of what all you've got sometime...? Or maybe a link to your ebay/craigslist auctions, or however you sell 'em? I don't need a rear, but I'd like to see what else you've got.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
I have been in the market for a third gen for quite a while now. Finally bought one a couple weeks ago. It's an 87 Firebird with an LG4/700r4, 90k original miles on it. Only has a couple of problems (needs timed/tuned, needs temp. gauge rewired, needs new rear hatch motor, paint) but I think I got a pretty good deal on it. Need to get those stickers off for sure though...

nice to see some okies! unfortantly I am moving to Denver Co for work and I have to sell my 91 and 90 firebirds. If any one you okies out there know of someone who wants one Ill selling them together as a set for 2000. the 91 is a v6 in pretty decent shape needs some minor tlc and the 90 is a formula i bought for parts to convert the front end of the 91 for a v8 mod. The formula body is in alright shape no rust just a few dings. the interior is rough in the formula but it does have all power windows/locks. and it also has aluminum ws6 rims. some one needs to give these a good home where they wont just sit and rot.

I am currently overseas serving with the National Guard and will be home in March or April. You can email me at chrissooner77@yahoo.com or send me a message on here. Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Please Help! I have been looking for a thirdgen for six months now! I thought it would be cake, considering I have a respectable amount of money to spend. I just found this thread and think it might help. I am looking to buy a 1985-1992 V8 Camaro. Preferably a manual, but at this point auto will be just fine. I am not looking for a roller or a beater guys. Good shape, reasonable miles(I understand they are 25+ years old), no MAJOR broken glass, solid runner. I am a gearhead, I can work on cars so minor mechanical problems won't be a problem. As long as it fits those requirements, I want it.

All three of those are nice rides, I too have a semi done classic muscle 69 Camaro SS but buried away in a building on my land until I can get to it, looking for a donor 4th gen at this time. So is that 3rd gen staged up for the Track? I cant tell or not as its a blurry pic. I love the paint and would like to see more of it. So where are you located at in Oklahoma? On the far western side as your title states Horn?
Re: The Oklahoma Thread
I'm from okc. The Camaro is a 305 TBI/T5 car right now. I'm looking into putting a LS1 this winter. Just gathering info right now. The Cutlass is a 455/400 setup. The mustang is a 306 set up with lots of goodies and is pretty fast. I look forward to the Camaro being faster come spring.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Hey guys. I've just come into possession of a 1985 Camaro Z28 with the LG4. I used love working on cars with my dad at his place cause he had all the equipment I needed. He has retired to Oregon of all places and took his toys with him. So i am wondering where the best perfromance shop is in oklahoma that has fair prices for their work. And as we all know the LG4 is satan's gift to the camaro and I want to beef it up with out swapping he engine just yet. So heres my other question: What would be the best cams and headers set up that would work for the LG4 and what would be the best fuel injection kit for it, preferably one of those new self tuning ones? And if you guys could give me examples for these things that are the absolute best out there regardless of price and also an example of some more affordable options, that would be awesome.I am pretty new to te thirdgen and am trying to find teachers wherever i can.

Ticeblue: there's a shop downtown 5th and Walker called Latinos paint and body. Owners name is Melvin. They do awesome work and aren't expensive. Then there's a guy in Edmond who is among the top 5 percent in the nation in painting. I can get his number tomorrow if you'd like.

I live in Bixby and I'm looking for a place that has the necessary equipment for and engine swap and that can install upgrades such as headers, cams, exhaust, etc. You guys probably find what I'm saying to be heresy but my son and I are working on a '67 Malibu for my him and don't have time for my Camaro currently. I just want the camaro up and running a little stronger.
