Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Hey, I've got a 1982 Trans Am, coming together slowly but surely and I'm in Mcalester, thought I'd see what's up. Did anyone ever come up with a car club? Anyone go down to the fall fest at Robbers Cave?

New to 3rd gens. Always been into 1st and 2nd gen Firebirds. I recently picked up a couple 3rd gen FBs. Got an '85 and a '90. I'm in OKC. Glad to see I'm not the only one in this area that still appreciates a V8 powered car.

^Nice. The 2nd & 4th gen in the family?

Anyone seen the white '91 or '92 Trans Am or GTA running around Midwest City? It's got a big ol' orange racing stripe. Looks better than I described. lol Wondering if they're on here....

I know the White TA you're talking about. I've seen it on Reno and Air Depot a few times. Seems like I've seen it in the neighbor behind Braums on Reno. That was a while ago though. Was the orange stripe a special edition or is it "custom?"

It looked custom, but nicely done, in the 2.3 seconds I saw it in the other lane.

There are a few "Car Clubs", one of which has invited me to join. The Camaro/Firebird club folded up a few years ago. I like the people in the car club, but i want to talk shop with some people that have the same kind of car I have. If you get something going consider Ellie and I in!

I still see a few. The problem I see is that most of the people I see driving them aren't what I would think of as people that look like they would be in a car club.

I have been wrong before though.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
New to the forum. Found a 91 Z vert low mileage california car finally. I've been looking for a clean car for a while. I'm in Elgin just outside of Lawton OK. Good to see some locs talking camaro biz here.

Had the car for two months now and in the middle of a 4th gen PBR swap. Came stock w/ 2.73 posi drums. Had to go. These verts were all 5.0 cars so 1LE option seemed almost impossible to find. BTW The rear is up for sale cheap if anybody needs it. Only 40K on original rear.

Brand new IROC 20s are going too w/ 245/255/35 rubber. 500 miles on 'em.

Hope to run into some 3rd gens out there. Springs on the way. Maybe the top can come down soon.

Go Sooners!

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Hi, my name is Traci and I live in Duncan, Oklahoma. We just bought my 16 year old a 88 Camaro and the some of the gauges don't work. We are trying to get that done this weekend. We need to know if a gauge cluster from a 90 model camaro will interchange with the 88. The oil pressure gauge is in the tach on the gauge panel, the temp gauge doesn't work either. Don't know much about this, PLEASE HELP! She is going insane wanting to drive it.

Hey Traci,

you are going to get a much better response to your question if you post it on the right forum. This one is for locals to communicate with each other. The forum you need is the Tech forum. Here is a link to it.

Good luck!

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
It looks very nice, but a little bit over priced. He says best offer, I think you could offer 4000 then settle for 4500. I like the chassis stiffeners, but dislike the 4th gen and corvette pieces.

I am a purist though, so I am a bit **** about it. It took me over a year to put in a CD player, but I kept the original cassette player in case I ever show it.

LeBra is LeStupid.... Other than that, looks very nice. RS and a 305, so L03? I wouldn't pay 6k for a car with TBI.....
T56 is very nice though, as are the wheels and brakes. Pics aren't great, so can't really see the body, but it looks like one to check out. If it's in good shape, I'd pay a little under $5k.

Street racing is illegal, and it can kill innocent bystanders. I am pretty sure that the discussion of it isn't tolerated on these forums either.

THE WAY I TOOK IT I DIDNT THINK HE WAS MEANING DRAG RACE BUT LIKE THE ACTION OF DRAGGING MAIN OR JUST CRUSING.I have used that term like that before. It may not have been used correctly but I have said it.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Too many cops and crowds on 39th. No real racing goes down. Everyone just kinda accelerates quickly to the speed limit. lol.
Some cool cars out sometimes tho. Saw a Ford GT last time. Very slick ride.

91, yeah, no offense taken. I just meant if I'm paying $6k for a 3rd gen, it's gonna be a perfect L98 car, or something more powerful. An L03 is still a v8, but not my ride of choice for that price.

I know it's a long drive for most of you, but we would love to have you all join us at the Thridgen roundup in May. It was never intended as a texas only event, and in fact one day we might move it up to Dallas so more people from OK and other states can join us.

Please let us know if you can make it, a caravan down from OK would be incredibly cool.
