I know this should go in the "parts wanted" section but he don't want to get this from far away...
Friend of our on this site is looking for a true 350. Just drove from OKC to Duncan to find out that the idiot that tried to sell him a 350 actually had a 305... so he drove 2 hours for absolutely nothing. So... he's looking for a 350 somewhere around the OKC area that is a true 350. Needs the whole thing other than the exhaust.
If anyone can help can you please PM me or post on here. I'd rather not post on here and take up a crap ton of room for a classified ad but pm's would be great, i get everything from here transfered to my phone so if anyone can help ASAP that would be great. Has cash in hand and is ready for a motor.
Thanx

Ok, this is stretching it out there, but plans didn't work out today like they were suppose to so... is there anybody bored out of their mind today that is wanting to do something? My girlfriend and I are freakin lost on things to do on a budget so I was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat out there or if anyone was needing a hand working on their car today that had a wife/gf to bs with mine while I help... anybody up for it, please pm... thanks.

Yeah spring will not get here fast enough. It keeps teasing us though with these nice days.
Jeremy- Car looks good man. As far as your sig pic goes I like the one of the right rear corner, and the one of the left front corner. Those are some nice shots.
Jaydog- I'm up around 10th and Council quite a bit. We have a few suppliers up there that we get stuff from. Is the car outside where I could drive by and see it?

Car stays inside and hardley gets driven, sad really but as good as it looks it needs a little work before I'll drive it like I stole it. Fixing to start on the headwork porting and intake porting soon. It needs a new throttle body cause the shaft is worn and a few sensors here and there. I'm going to beef it up a little but keep a totaly stock appearance to it.
P.S. I hate the wonder bra on the front myself but the guy that I bought it from put it on there and when I went to take it off........well lets just say it looks better with it on. Paintjob comes next summer.

So how much longer this weather gonna keep you kids indoors :P lol I'm thinking about 2 more weeks we might get a really nice day to go rolling around town on *crosses fingers*

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
I agree next few weeks should give us some nice weather.
Well I think I have decided to put my cars up for sale. If anyone is interested let me know. I've been driving around in the RS the last couple of days, and I'm just not as into it as I was. It's fun don't get me wrong, but just think I'm gonna look for a truck. I'm looking for a 75-87 Chevy or GMC SWB. Wife told me I couldn't buy another thing until the ones I had were gone. Which I agree with. Don't have the parking space now for what I have much less for something else. So here's what I have. There are a few pics on this thread of both cars, but I can send more is someone is interested.
89 Iroc - $2000 obo
350tpi / Auto T-Top. Needs work. Body is great paint is not. Interior needs work, and it has a blown head gasket. I was planning on rebuilding the motor, or dropping in a crate motor so I didn't tear it down to see what all is wrong. If it's just a gasket or cracked head. I was saving up the money for the engine rebuild when I came across the RS.
92 RS Z03 Heritage Edition - $4000 obo
305tbi / Auto. This is a pretty nice car. Great driver. Everything works. Just replaced the power window motors, and hatch struts. Repainted the accents on the wheels, and around the rear hatch glass. The paint has the same clear coat peeling issue as the Iroc so a repaint is needed. It's not that bad, but needs it. It also needs a passenger front fender. Haven't started looking for one yet. Was planning on finding a used black one so it would match. You can get one from Certi-fit for $45, but I haven't seen how good they are. It also needs a windshield, and a dash pad. It has a carpet cover now so it's at least hiding the cracks. Was planning on wrapping it with vinyl instead of buying a new pad. I'm frugle like that! Have seen a few on here done like that and they look pretty good. I may get around to getting the windshield replaced in the next week or so, and then I'm starting on the dash pad. So those things may be done before I sell it.
I really hate to in a way. I know the both cars are going to be worth some money someday, but I guess I just lost interest in them, or like my wife says I am very indecisive! Got bit by the truck bug, and want another one!
If anyone is interested pm me and I'll get you more pics, or answer any questions you may have.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Yeah I probably will kick myself, but it won't be the first time!
I thought about parting it out, and if I don't get any buyers I might do that, but I would rather sell it outright first. Unless you are needing some parts then I might be tempted!

So I spent all of last weekend waxing, and buffing, and waxing, and buffing again, and spot cleaning the interior just to find out that this weekend again is going to be cold and miserable like every weekend is after having a nice week... i'm about to tell my boss that my weekends are Tuesday and Wednesday until summer actually comes!
She sure does look pretty though......
Anybody lining anything up for a get together of 3rd Gens come summer in OKC? Nothing like Ford Center huge, but more like Expressway WalMart Parking Lot big..... ?? anybody??

Nice Iroc! When/Where did you have it painted? Mine is past due for a paint job soon. I really like the Hurst in there as well. I used to have a mega shifter in mine, but that setup looks wicked!
I think the word wrap issue has to be addressed when creating the thread. I have read many other threads on this board that didn't have this problem. Only occasionally I will see a thread where the text is a mile long, like this one.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
The text wrap issue is due to someone posting too big of a picture that it makes the page wider. Which also makes the text stretch also. Kinda weird how it works.
Well I think I have the Iroc sold, but still trying to sell the RS Z03

This won't be my hauling truck. I have one for that. This will be more of a cruiser. Try and tell me this doesn't look nice!
Attachment 172176
Had one when I was in high school, and sold it due to family obligations. After messing with the Camaro's, just decided I wanted something different. Can't afford both right now, so had to determine which I would have more fun working on, and cruising in. Both are nice, and each have their points, just a hard choice to make. I'm sure down the road I'll regret it, but heck that's what life is all about right?

Feeling has a lot to do with why some of us own these cars. Honestly, they blue book for next to nothing, are not rare, and there are many cars out there that are cheaper to make faster. Especially my worthless v6. But I keep dumping money into it due to sentimental value. Me & the wifey went on our first date in my car. That can't be replaced with a 5th gen. (maybe a ZR1 though....)
Sorry for the soapbox. I guess I'm saying do what makes ya happy.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Oh no worries. I wasn't upset. I love Camaro's, don't get me wrong there. I've spent a lot of time and money on the third gens I've had too, but I guess I just want to try something else. That is the great thing about cars. Every person loves a car for a different reason. Be it invesment reasons, sentimental reasons, value reasons, or speed reasons. As long as you enjoy yourself, and do what you love that's all that matters. Do I still love third gens? Of course. If I had tons of money I wouldn't be selling anything, just buying more!
I sold the Iroc yesterday. Now I just need to sell the RS. If anyone knows anybody looking for a good car this is it. Not just because I own it, but it is really a nice clean original, not hacked up Camaro.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
If ya look back at the pics I posted you can see in one of them in the background is a red 86 swb. It's accually my brothers that I bought for him a while back and like any older truck needs a little bit of body work. I personaly love these kinda trucks, I grew up with them as my dad had many swb's. It came with a 305 but we canned it and put a bored 350 4 bolt in it with a mild cam, headers, intake, etc etc etc. Damn thing runs like a champ with the turbo 350 trans. Unfortunaty it still has the stock rear unit in it. Fixing to put a 373 full locker unit in it and the truck should be down to the high 13's.
You would be surprized how light weight these things can be. I'm not knocking you at all for wanting a swb, in fact i dont blame ya one bit. They are sturdy as he!! and cake to work on. You can put a pretty big power plant in them too.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
i tried american camaro they told me to call other slavage yards or machine shops. they dont want to tear that deep into a motor for a $10 part. i am going to get one from a dealer today. all i have in the 357 is speed pro cast flat top pistons with 4 valve reliefs, LT1 cam, erson roller rockers, stock everything else, the exhaust will be dynomax shorty headers, with tru dual exhaust with 2 flowmaster 40`s with TPI i think this motor will have decent power it has to be faster than the 305. lol
