Re: The Oklahoma Thread

I know a lot of people on midweststreetcars.com. Some wicked fast cars. 9-8 sec cars on the street.

Either way if you want to go sub 10's get ready to spend some major $$$. Be sure you as a driver can handle that type of power first.

yea some of them guys on midwest are pushing it a little too far in my opinion. An 8 second car has really no business being on the street....good way to kill yourself or someone else. But on the same note they really play it pretty safe. I know of a few of the regular spots they have marked for the 8th mile and there reletively safe.... (enough time to shut down).

I do know that stuff there selling on there "pimp juice" is the chit!!! I'm fixing to buy a bunch of it because my car has stupid torque and for the life of me wont hook at all.

Ya'll need to hook up with me one of these saturday nights and come run the 8th mile with me and some of my buddys. We have a really nice spot down here too. Pig Free

Anyone know of or have used any really good quality scratch removers that works really well on black paint?
A couple of stupid dogs decided they'd jump up on the side of my car oooh about 30 times and scratch the mess out of it....

I like the torque arm. Spohns quality is top notch. There are other brands that have similar quality products. As for the car, Its does pretty good in the turns.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

So today I was just driving around and I feel something kinda hot on my leg...eehh it's probably nothing... then it happens again except it's a LOT hotter and all over my leg and I look down and oil is just spewing out all over my floor!! There was a puddle of oil by the time I noticed!! I was like wtf!! So I shut the car off in the middle of no where on a dirt road scared to death something seriously wrong has happened cause I definently wouldn't be able to get it fixed for awhile if it was serious even though it was definently motor oil. Come to find out later on after somehow I got a tow (illegally with a chain now that I hear) back home from a friend who lived nearby luckily, my oil pressure line somehow busted or melted or got cut right above my steering column right above my legs. So it'll be fun to re-route that line back through everywhere and into my middle console gauges and clean up the oil that seeped through the carpet and everything, at least it wasn't anything major! Anyone else ever had anything like that happen?

There was a blue 86 iroc on CL last night that was in damn good shape. Was selling for 500 bucks. I called on it and the guy said it was a 305 car that spun a bearing but, he was also selling a fresh 350 along with it. Apparently the guy was moving outa state and didnt want to pay to haul it, had a clean title and everything. When I called he had a guy looking at it and 4 others on the way........I was like, ok call me if it don't sell I will pick it up tomorow. Never called and post was deleted today. Missed a hell of a deal and I not even looking for another car, in fact I dont even have the money for it, but I garuntee I would of came up with it for that price....

Tons of good deals on craigslist right now not only for cars but go-fast parts too. I'm enjoying the crap out of our "crappy economy"

P.S. when searching for camaro on CL, spell it wrong like camero and a whole new group will pop up because appently thats a hard word to spell for some people??????LOL

be careful running that air filter man, i had the same thing on an old camaro of mine, had a holly backfire and apparently the foam filter elements in those are extremely flameable. Just throwing it out there.

Hows she run???

Don't mean to barge in guys,But thought I'd toss this out.

I wasn't in the mood to dig out these parts from my garage in 100+ degree heat,But since my Pioneer head unit is about to crap out,I could use the $$$ for a new one

Parts are in Edmond ( I will be back in town on Monday)

1.FLAT white 1984 firebird hood pretty clean a few dings nothing bad (no rust or bondo) missing latch $50

3.Both FULL power driver side doors $60 each (No side mirror or door panel included) driver side is red/pass side is black

I need this stuff gone !!!

first pay,first serve

PM me for more details

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

the T/A is alive!! i drove it down the street today.. it is awsome. my head hurts from hitting the back of the seat so many times. all i have to do is put better gas in it and set the timing. i am getting a ping when i try to set the timing. it is running about -20 degrees right now. so it doesnt ping but when i fill it up with good gas it will be ok around 10 degrees advanced

How much compression does the motor make??? Maybe I asked this before but, whats the lift and duration on the cam? Reason I ask is....I have a tuning kit for that carb and a timing light.....I can fine tune that bich for ya. Then I'll drag ur a$$$$$$ J/K man.........been jonesing for a good race lately...

Just bought a b&m 3000 converter for it with the anti-ballooning plate. One step at a time man....just getting all my ducks in a row. As it sits the car runs a high 12 low 13 et. And thats spining all the way through 1st and half of second gear. If I could get this piece of crap to hook I would have it made. Instead I spend my money on go-fast parts rather than a good set of et streets...... The goal here is 11.50's then I am done and on to bigger and better things. Really I'm just building this car to bust up mildly modified ls1's and such. Not trying to break any records.

I do however, NEED somebody that know's there chit to burn me some custom chips for this thing, I know I could squeeze a lot more out of it with a good tune...

P.S. 92whiteta, The carb ur running may be a tad small for that combo, A good 670 avenger, or run of the mill 650 would help a good deal. But, in the mean time, I might come out this weekend sometime and help tune it better. If you ever want to get rid of that baby stick though.....I got a solid cam 570/580 that plum thumps.....we can take the daily driver right out of it

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

I got a fresh holly 750 vac secondary but it would be way to much for your set-up. It was to much on my brothers truck and he's got a much bigger cam and intake then ur runnin. You could even probly get away with an eddy 750 as well. The eddy 750 doesnt flow near as much as a holly 750. That way, if you ever go with a better cam/intake/heads you will have the carb to support it.

I usually dont reccomend hollys on mild street motors, to much trouble in my opinion....I have just personaly had a LOT of bad experiances with them and so have a lot of other people around me. The tuneability of them is far better than eddy, but, unless your putting some serious power down......stick with an eddy.

The carb you have is just fine......just saying you could probly squeeze a little more out of that motor with a slightly bigger carb. I dont know if you have one but, put like a 1" spacer under that carb and it will help too. Its all about the little things. Surprising how quick you can make a run of the mill 350 with just mild bolt-ons and GOOD tuning.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

You will love driving with the stall. GET A GOOD TRANS COOLER like yesterday!

What heads are you running? It will be a rush flashing the converter in 1st gear with the long tube runner setup. I remember when mine had the tpi intake L98 in it crazy low end torque. I had a 2200 GM stall in it (4.3l blazer converter) and that was definitely a stump puller. You running a factory L98 cam?

I hope to be installing my NX nozzle before school starts up. There is a group of mustang guys that run around up here (some 03-04 cobras, LS1 cars and GT500's) that need to show some respect so to speak. I'm looking for ~10.6's with the 150 pills this fall.

Heads are 64cc #083 factorys milled to 62cc with a 3 angel valve job, lightly ported, stiffer springs, with a shim head gasket. The motor is an aftermarket crate rotating assembly standard deck height with nodular crank and powdered rods with a 2piece rear main. The motor is making 10.3to1 running on 91 octane. Its not stock by any means, whole bunch of mods incuding SLP runners witch are figgina get ported by the way. It is definatly a stump puller thats for sure. I need to dyno it and I will when I get the nx on it. The motor has so much torque its unreal, I cant keep rubber on it, if I had to guess its making 400-450 on the torque side to the ground......the motor is frickin tight. It pulls hard all the way to 6000 and wants more.....

I'm procrastinating putting this stall in though cuz I dont have a lift and its gona SUUUUUUCCCCKKKK!!! But will be well worth it, the reason I bought this stall really is for the anti baloon plate......because I'll be spraying from a dig.....till this chitty 9 bolt explodes.......

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

My steering wheel has finally been replaced, so it is drivable again.
I work a lot tho, but I'd try to make it.
