Re: The Oklahoma Thread

I check this every day. I'm sure there are more that read this, but are waiting for warmer weather, or for a day off, etc.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

Maybe it falls under the "If they build it they will come"

I agree with the weather. I'm not a cold weather person either so if we are going to be hanging out with the cars along with whatever else we do, eat, go-carts, etc.. Then I want it to be a lot warmer than it has been lately!

Let's see....

02/21 03/21 04/04 are the Saturdays that I have off, and nothing planned. Any Saturday other than that I work until 6pm so it would have to be after that.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

ok, just so I don't have to go through the 100's of replies, what are we looking at doing outside with the nicer weather? just found this site and got added. been wondering how to find others in OKC that I can go to for help and what not, would love to meet up with people with the 3rd gen Iroc's. Got some serious questions to ask that I would like to ask in a garage with people that arent going to think that I'm a total retard. Been around cars all my life, but this one has got a little bit more to it than the normal average car. if anyone is available in the evenings with an open garage that actually knows carb camaros, shoot me a text... i get off at 5:30 and would be more than happy to come over to have some help before the weather really gets nice! 405-923-1489

Thanx in Advance,
The Cable Guy

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

I would just like to do some cruise ins. There is one at Coit's Drive In once a month during the summer. Other than that just whatever comes up I guess. I'm good for just about anything. Like you I just want to meet up with other third gen owners.

I would help you, but I don't think I know anymore than you do. I'm a newbie to these third gens too. What problems or questions do you have?

91camarosRS: Is the 99 Tahoe the old body style, or new for that year? Tahoe's are nice vehicles.

Isn't the ECU the same for 305 & 350?

Are you gonna need an engine stand or hoist? I've got both that I don't need anymore.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

the ecu itself is the same but there is a chip inside that is different (cant think of the name of it right now) i would rather find a good complete ecu instead of trying to replace the chip but if i can find one i would take that too.

thanks for the offer but i have everything i need for the swap.

I'm either in Stillwater or NW OKC (near expressway and meridian). I come down twice a month during school, so if you guys start some gatherings I may get down there sometime.
Jeremy, my daily driver is a 97 Tahoe LT 4x4 w/ 205K. My dad bought it new and passed it down to me. They a quality rides, especially for the price these days. (as long as the intake gaskets have been changed)

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

Looks like NW OKC had some early action yesterday! Hope you all are doing well. Luckily it didn't affect my parents place. The radar looked like it wasn't even raining in the east metro area while NW was getting hit pretty hard.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

Yeah hope everyone is ok. It looked pretty nasty, and very unpredictable of when it would touch down and skip around.

Saturday is out for me for the Valentine's Day thing that night, and I have to work that day. Other than that I would be down. Maybe the next Saturday?

My name is John. I live in Noble. It's on the South edge of Norman.

I've heard of people putting a 350 in with a 305 computer and not having any problems.

i like the guages under the vent. i have never been a fan of pillar guages. i see them as a giveaway for cops that you probably like to race or drive fast (unecessary attention) and they can block your view sometimes. no one can see under your vents when driving by..

yes they would be easier to see but the tripple piller pods still block your vision it depends on what is more important do you want to see what your car is doing or see more of the track.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

that is a big question i ask myself. but sometimes seeing whats going on is just as important. i have even debated to put them under the vents and have like three warning lights or something right above the steering wheel and a shift light where the piller joins the dash

or you can go with an auto logging setup so you can make your run then when you are done you can review the numbers and see what happened.

By means of under the vents are you talking about like mine Jeremy? lol Really dirty picture of mine I think below but that's what you might call "Don't touch or you'll get finger prints everywhere" kind of interior lol

I finally have all 4 headlights working now and tomorrow I'm going to be putting on my new light enhancers I believe and touch up spots that want to annoy the mess out of me!
By the way guys my name is Tyler... I too live in Chandler just 3 miles south of Rt.66, In between Hwy.18 and Chandler. Same as Jeremy basically lol

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

if you're willing to stick this much money into gauges and reading systems for your gauges beyond "looking down" at your factory or to the side for your aftermarket, then why don't you just drop a bill or two on one of those "windshield display" units that give you your tach, speedo, and all gauges that you want to program it for all displayed on your windshield? just a thought though...

Woops sorry Jeremy.. I didn't notice you already had the gauges under your vent lol... yet I've looked at your car how many times now and I still forgot lol.

The only problem I could deprive from those gauges Chris is mainly just price.. but how hard would they be to install? They are a really good idea that I might take in to account someday in the future, just for future reference how hard would they be? I think they'd be a challenge personally but I don't know.. never had any.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

that is pretty cool but i dont really wanna hack my dash like that. and to me its only rpm if i got one i kinda want one like the corvette has. and how well do they look durning the day? im just thinking about after i do my "master" gauge instal i will prob have like 3 left over. didnt know where to put them. basicly in the dash i was going with speedo, tach, volts, oil, temp, fuel level. the other three wouldl be someting like boost/vac,air fuel ratio, and nitrous press. i would also think of sometinglike fuel pressure but that may just stay under the hood i wanna be able to know everything thats going on. and the more i think about it the more im kinda likeing the idea of putting two waring lights on the dash one for oil press and the other for temp. i wish there was one more sending unit for fuel pressure. b/c if you go lean with juice, you can seriously hurt things.
