Anyone have a dynomax ultraflow on their car local that I can listen to? Or better yet anyone have just a intermediate pipe in good condition for sale by itself?

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

Anyone know of a good window tinting place that does a good quality job and doesn't break the bank? I'm heading off to college next year and don't really want any vandals peeking in my car thinking about breaking in and stealing anything lol

Got a 750 Holley put on today Still needs adjustments.. don't even remember how long I worked on it today to try to get it running right.. still not getting it to work real good yet It started and ran once for awhile, sounded like a NHRA drag car, I was not expecting it to because the old carb never had it running so rough and choppy like that before. Hopefully with one more day I can get it running and idling half way decent.

Pull-a-part has a crapload of thirdgens right now. I scored some almost perfect '82 - '84 TA tail lights for cheap. Cleaned em up and polishing today, gonna see how they look on a '91. If they suck I'll put em on ebay.

Find someplace with a lifetime guarantee. I went with a small shop in MWC the first time for the 'bird. 4 years later it was starting to peel. Then I took my daily driver to Alta Mere in OKC, and 7 years later it still looks perfect.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

None at the moment, & its a work in progress right now. Doing a tune up, so its missing plug wires & stuff. Otherwise looks stock.

Crap, I have no idea what they are worth. I could check American Camaro, but then I'd have to cut 80% off to get the fair price.
Hell, $50 ok?

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

just an update on my project, bought a few parts here and there forit. Nothing installed yet. Spohn t56 arm and crossmember, umi sfc,4inch spintech, headman long tubes with d port for the lt1, and a 4th gen 3.42 posi beating brakes and paint. The motor is out of the bird as wel as the trans. Motor is still on the k member tho. Sucks not having a hoist. Carpet in the red car is stripped and thrown away. I have rust issues need fixed. Im prob going to wait and save for that before i move on. And that said i think ill paint it at that time. Just a quick update!

Btw. Have a 98 bird i need to part out for cash!

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

Update- Hit a dog a week or so ago... did some damage to my front bumper but hey it looks like I can use 1 of my 2 life lines for insurance claims lol Then a road side service covers me $500 which would pay my insurance deductible. So it looks like I'm getting that damage fixed and the whole car re-painted again for pretty much free The paint on there now is paper thin, I shake my head and cry a little bit inside every time I see a glimmer of blue factory paint under the black. So I'm definitely happy about that, also fixed the driver side door which sagged like no other, used some ingenuity with washers and new bushing and pin to take away all the slack in the hinge so it's not catching the skirt anymore First time in over a year I won't have to crawl out the passenger side or the window anymore haha!
Going to see about the windows tinted in the next week, what % looks good on a black and white Camaro?

You don't happen to have a driver side rear tail light that's not cracked or anything do you?
I have another set of tail lights but coincidentally the driver side lights on them are busted too!

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

Rust is definitely not enough to get anyone motorvated :P
I'm great with interior stuff haha! Partly because that was basically my expertise when I redid mine. From the pics though it looks like you have really nice seats front and back.
I would suggest getting chrome gauges and sticking them under the middle a/c vent like I did... I've gotten several several compliments on how it really adds to the car.
I put some fog lamps on mine and the switch on the bottom left panel thing... not sure what's really suppose to be there in most Camaro's?
It's your car though :P But I'd be glad to help whenever you get around to it though.

I doubt I could ever buy anything off that site lol Maybe the gauges when I'm a millionaire but gah! I didn't hardly see anything under $200, I've gotten some of those original parts and stuff for like $20 instead of $200 lol

^This is gonna sound dumb, but.... Maaco.
Yes, their $189 paint job is garbage, but their "high end" stuff is really good for the price. Not show winning, but factory appearance. I met a guy that had his IROC done for about $500 by Maaco, and I couldn't believe the results.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

That will cost ya. Especially since you are looking at changing colors. I bet you want the door jams, engine bay, and whatnot repainted as well?
For body work, sanding, prep.... That alone will probably be $1500, if not more....

Well, how 'bout an example.... In 2002 I stupidly spent some of my re-enlistment bonus on getting my car painted at a BA place in OKC called Custom Concepts. Paint was crap black over the original red, had dings but no dents, no rust, and I was only getting the exterior done. Minus the ghost flames, it was $4600. That was 8 years ago....
In 2006 I sent a buddy with a 2nd gen to them, as he was wanting the original white stripped, body work, then repainted same color. They told him $6500.
It might be better now, with the economy still taking a dump, but nicer-than-factory paint costs a buttload. Might consider doing the prep yourself, then only have the shop do the paint....

Got some time? Metro Tech. $200 will get you a body shop class where you can learn from experts on excellent tools. You're required to have a project for class, so.... One semester and you take your car as far as you want.

Hey I got mine repainted...all the little dints and dings crack or bumps taken out and good thick paint done for $450 at this shop in okc. You have to take it back at least once for them to get it done completely right and no mess ups but so far I'm pleased. They barely charge for labor, I took my door to the guy and he did it for $40 to shave it and work on it for me. Text me if you want the guys number.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

is anyone looking for an '85 iroc? T-TOPs gray inside, blue outside. It has power windows and locks. there is no engine or trans. there is a transmission for it but it will need to be put together (its a 700r4). Engine bay in really good shape, seats are pretty good shape also. the front glass is cracked on the passenger side.Name: 3n33k23od5Y25Q15X6a7l0ab49e116eea1853.jpg

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

does the torque arm come with the mounting bracket/bushing thing thats holds it to the tranny?? i did and engine swap on my 86 and misplaced the bracket so i was thinking of getting a new arm and installing it while im under the car. i have the stock one on now. what kind of improvements will that torque arm make??

Re: The Oklahoma Thread

I would do $275 since you are local. Trans crossmember, driveshaft loop, and torque arm, this also takes the torque arm off the transmission and onto the crossmember. 1st come 1st serve, whoever wants it can call me 405-532-9470.
