Re: Before & After pics(engine bay,paint,wheels,etc)
You guys are killin me! Everywhere I look on here someone has just painted their car and they look awesome, yours included. I found some old pics of my car when I first got it and had it painted. 13 years later it don't look so good, not that its horrible, but could definitely be better. Maybe, and thats a big maybe, I'll get mine done this year.

I'm for the decals as well. Otherwise it looks like just another camaro. Plus the gold decals look really sharp on a great black pain job!

Yeah, everyone else in the house agrees that they should go back on, including the wife so I never really had a choice in the matter to begin with...lol
I want to take it back to the paint shop and have they put some clearcoat on and wetsand/buff it again. I will put they back on after I get that done.....

Re: Before & After pics(engine bay,paint,wheels,etc)
what color IROC decal are you going to use? I don't think you should use gold unless you're going to put your gold wheels back on..
do they make them in white? silver? red?

Re: Before & After pics(engine bay,paint,wheels,etc)
you can put them on and clearcoat over them so they don't get messed up and shine with the paint... just a thought... i would go gold like the original..
Hey--- you were at the camaro local meet here in houston not that last one but the one before that right?

Re: Before & After pics(engine bay,paint,wheels,etc)
When my head gasket went, I decided to upgrade to a SuperRam.
The lid in it's initial stages.
Should flow better.
Bolts screwed in from the top and then safety wired to each other, to prevent them from sucking themselves into the engine. (This is how airplanes do it).....Most people bolt through the top and then run a cotter pin underneath. (Hard to get the pins in, especially on passenger side). The original LPE way was to bolt them from the underneath the plenum (IMPOSSIBLE!)
After some good ol' fashion polishing. (Wave to the camera)
Looks like a space alien.....It's actually the reflection of my lampshade.
Love the next two pics.
At this stage, I should have
a) Replaced the EGR
b) Replaced the Multec injectors with Bosch III. (Both of these were done after the fact)

Accel manifold in the background. TPIS BigMouth in the front....I wound up going with the Accel because the ports looked a bit bigger. Slightly smoother inside as well.

After motor swap. Car had the factory 305 with 107,000 miles. It had scratched cylinder walls, and the rings had all deteriorated away from sitting. So we picked up this L05 for 300 dollars i think. Great motor! Owned by an older woman who had a 1993 roadmaster. Ran the vin on the motor and sure enough, its a 350.
