I finally picked up my first third gen. Its an 82 Pontiac TA with a 305 and 4 speed. The 305 in it is locked up but I have another one that I can put in it. Its been sitting since 95 so it'll definitely need work but thats nothing new to me.

That looks like s good a starting point as ever...

 

I got the old 305 out and put the 305 out of the donor truck in the car. As of right now the 305 is running but has a little oil leaking from the oil pan. I should have resealed it before I dropped it in but at the time I didn't think about it. I'm also gonna ditch the CCC and put a different carb on it.

 

By reseal you mean a new pan gasket not permatex right?

 

I mean I should of put all new gaskets on it while it was out.

 

Made that mistake before. Oh well lesson learned.

 

oh yeah... you prob shouldve... that would have been the best time... however .... if its like mine you will hve it apart again..
