I take it we're talking in Sept, right? I can probably meet up on Sat or Sun of that week. My car's nothing special right now, but its a driver.

Re: Rod Run

...still going to try and make it there next weekend. I got my 5speed swapped in my Z28 so it's a little more fun to drive now.

I was panicked 'cause I thought it was this weekend and had a surprise family visit.

I was planning on going but it kind of slipped up on us. I was thinking it was later in the year. Post us some pics please. Sounds like a good time.

Re: Rod Run

I live in Pigeon Forge and this Shades rod run this weekend has three or four 3rd Gen Camaros and I think all of them are forsale . One I saw was a white car with the convertable top and the two seater option but no engine for $1500 IIRC . THere is also a black one a blue one and a yellow one all have been Camaros . IIRC the black one is a hardtop for $2500 . Sadly the only Firebirds I see in a 3rd Gen are mine , my womans , and a guy we know and some others running around here and there but I don't know if there local or not .

Re: Rod Run

I happened to be in Pigeon Forge yesterday (trying to take the fam to Dollywood, but the rain didn't cooperate), and I noticed the above mentioned Camaros.

The white 'vert was kind of crummy for $1500. I didn't get a close look at it, but it looked like it wasn't the 82-84 'vert that it looked to be; Looked like someone got the rear two seat top and cut the roof off of a hardtop.

There was a really nice red GTA on show as well.

I wish I could've been there in my Z28, but oh well - I'll probably try to head up there next weekend too.

BTW: If anyone has tickets or knows how to get Dollywood discount tickets, LET ME KNOW ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Rod Run

If you guys are here and I am out and about look for a Med. Maui Blue Firebird with the tag 89BIRD thats me . I may only be on the road Friday to take and pickup my son from school . I knew something looked off about the white Camaro but I didn't look at it that good either . As for tickets to Dollywood check with a visitor center sometimes they have discount tickets to shows and such . Where is the GTA I haven't seen it ?

Re: Rod Run

I looked at the white one this morning and it was a hard top converted to a roadster , ie no top at all . The yellow one is still here and is a early Z-28 and a red RS or Z-28 is here now . The blue and black I think are gone . I never did see the GTA .

Re: Rod Run

I saw the GTA and the blue and black cars are still here as well as a silver Camaro and another one and a white TA and another red Camaro and a black GTA . The red car in my previous post is a early Camaro with the Z-28 stuff on it from '89 IIRC . I talked to the owner and told him about Thirdgen.org and he said he would check it out when he got home . It is a nice car setup for street/strip with a 427 BB under the hood . There may be more cars but that is all I've seen so far .

Re: Rod Run

Thinkin' about it, did you guys want to schedule a time and place to meet up on Saturday? Like lunch or something? Might have to be later because we'll have the toddler with us and she'll be getting up from her nap about 12:30pm.

I'll confirm with my wife what time we'll be there. I'll post a msg here tonight when I know for sure.

Thanks,

Sorry we never actually met up. After walking what felt like 6 miles total, we decided we were just gonna drive through Gatlinburg and then go towards Townsend from there. It was too hot and too congested for me to try and navigate around.

Lots of nice thirdgens there. I was drooling over the red and black IROCs that were there for sale... Plus there was a G92 1992 Z28 there for sale too.
