Hello...TimRS from McDonough. I own two black LO3 91 RS's...one automatic and the other a 5-speed. Not too many GA thirdgenners seem to post here for some reason. Just in case any are out there, Tanger Outlet Mall in Locust Grove has a show and shine every third Saturday of the month starting up soon. It usually runs early evening until dark. Definitely need more third gens showing up.

I'm down in Valdosta...actually I just moved here about 2 months ago. I went to Silver Dollar Raceway last Friday for the first time...took me about 2 1/2 hours to get there but it sure is a nice track! I didn't run though because my 2nd gear is starting to slip.

I'm in Acworth
I live in Acworth. I am new to the boards here. Good to see all of the usefull info. I am a new owner of a 1989 IROC-Z w\305 TBI. It is in the shop right now getting a brand new 305 and a few other things this week. It needs a little help, but maybe once we get her cleaned up and runnin' right, we'll have to attend one of those shows at Tanger Outlet.

Hey fella's, I'm also down here in Locust Grove, next door to Mcdonough.
Anybody know any emissions places that will give a pass for a little extra cash? It might come in handy when I do my engine swap.

DISCLAIMER ... this guy is NUTS .. don't do anything I
ever tell you too , or you WILL BE killed !!! ..you have
been warned !!!
the method I've been using is ..... run your car down to
enough gas for the trip ..3-4 gallons .. add in 3 gallons
of methanol .... I get it from my karting connections ..
most hotrod shops carry it too ... if your car is fuel injected
it'll take a minute or 2 for it to cycle in , then another
minute or 2 for your car to adjust ... if it's carb'ed you'll
need to rejet to make it run right :\ ..but you can just
make the trip running bad ...done it a FEW times !!
..
keep in mind .. if your in an emissions testing area ..
then your gas has 10-20% alky already ... your just
upping the content ... and don't let the car sit with that
much alky in it .. run it ALL out and get a fresh tank
of GAS .. alky eats plastic and corrodes aluminum !!

GA 3rd Genners!
It's pretty neat that some of us aren't too far from each other. I live in Millegeville. And I also am about to beat my RS in the hood. lol. Needs a new tranny
Give it a few weeks and I'm in.

Redraif,
You were looking for some door panel pics a while back (stock gray ones like yours used to be).... I took some, but they turned out so bad I didn't bother posting them. They are dark and grainy and I doubt they'd be of any use.

Seems Barrette pkwy is the place up North. I think its a larger import crowd though. I know some of GAFBA meets up there informally on Fridays. I haven't been up there yet myself.
Hey, since you will be here soon, I could see the panels and take some shots myself. Whatcha think.

I'm in Thomaston, right in the center of Atlanta, Macon, and Columbus. I'm going to try to make the Tanger Mall deal, it's not too far from here. Maybe if I hang around some other 3rd genners it will motivate me to get my bumper covers and hood painted to match the rest of my car. 86 Camaro w/ 400sbc.

I thought that was you(in your first post)! Yea, I see the car every day...in my garage. I still plan on emailing you a picture, but I was waiting until I had a little painting done. I took those stripes off you were talking about and unfortunately a fair amount of paint came off with them, and I put ground effects on from a white car with grey effects so the nose and rear are white, and the cowl hood is still primer grey.
Good hearing from you,
Dave

Dave,
You had actually e-mailed me a pic of the car before. It was right after you put the wheels and tires on. I thought it looked pretty good then. I would like to see a picture of it when you are through. Good to hear from you.

Well, I know they're meeting there, because they mention on their website. (http://www.gafba.com) The only problem is they don't mention where on Barrett. Oh yeah, by the way, it's not a 3rd gen club, they're a f-body club, but I'll take what I can get.
well if you find out where they at let me know and i'll tell a few guys on here that live around in our area and we all meet there if the GaFBA arnt there it wont be a total loss there will be about 4 of use 3rd gens

Sometimes taking what you can get is not all the great. GAFBA is an all F-body club, but after going to the their shootout this past weekend, nothing has changed. I remember going to a few events and no one really wanted to talk to me and the Wife becasue we drove a 3rd gen.
Our club made up over half of what was there 3rd gen wise. www.sethirdgen.org check us out!! We just had a blast getting together in Savannah with a cookout and a cruise and then over to Reynolds GA for the GAFBA shootout at Silver Dollar Raceway. Just an awesome weekend!!
Myself, I am about half way between Cartersville and Rome off 411. I just got my 89 Iroc-Z running with the new 408
You guys set a date and time and I am sure we can get a few more cars going to meet up. maybe head over to Silver Dollar Raceway for a bit of racing as well as it is not to far from the Tanger outlet mall in Locust Groove.
works now

Hey, guys, I live in Decatur on the east side of Atlanta.
I'm up for meeting up sometime, but my car's in that awkward stage right now after two recent accidents.
It is running fine, however, so I can drive it anywhere you guys wanna go!

Hey guys, good see so many 3rd gen folks in this area. I see quite a few third gens on the way to work in the morning so I know that there are quite a few around. On the way in the other day, I was behind a Vette, then I had a 2nd gen behind me and there was another 3rd gen behind him.

Yeah me, westbound across town (Woodstock). I've noticed that as well; there's a whole crap load of 3rd gens, but apparently they're not enthusiast.

Nice car! I have seen it a few times and wondered who that was. Now I know! If you happen to see a slightly faded maroon '89 IROC with dented in front fenders on the way down 92 west in the AM, that is me. It's a little rough around the edges, but we're fixin' her up a little.

Attention Southside ThirdGenners
I have found out that this Saturday, weather permitting, will be the show and shine at Tanger outlet mall. I was told that there was a large crowd last month so hopefully Saturday will be the same. Let's make a showing. See you guys there.

Where is the Tanger Outlet Mall??....and when?
MX265-
I don't recall seeing your car lately?..sorry...I'm only half awake in the morning when I'm driving. And thanks for the compliment, I only got her about 2 months ago and she's coming along nicely. I'm real short on cash right now, so she's been put on hold until I pay some of my bills off.
She's not blistering fast yet, but she can hold her own on the canyon carving. The plan for now is suspension and drivetrain, then I'll worry about going fast.

Tanger Outlet Mall is in Locust Grove. Take I-75 south about 35 south of the airport. It is the first Locust Grove exit (probably the only one). I believe the exit is for Bill Gardner Parkway. Take a left and go under the overpass and the entrance to the mall is between the Burger King and the McDonalds. Just follow all the hot rods. It will be quite a haul down from Canton and Woodstock...but come on down to the "plains".
