Working on the car. Looks as though I have to drop my gas tank. I have a leak when the tank is full, probably in the filler neck. I figure as long as the tank is down I'll replace the fuel pump and gasketting, as well as the rubber hoses that are down there. Were you looking for a get-to-gether or were you volunteering to help?

dropping the gas tank?? *gasp* hey dude whatever floats your boat. I believe if we get enough of us standing around, drinking beer, and flapping our jaws that you'll have more than enough help. It will be the end of a long semester for me so I'm looking for some way to vent

I wouldn't think it would be that hard. Drop the axle (done that when I changed the springs) and remove the sway bar. I don't think the tank has to come out of the car completely. It may not even have to get dropped down at all, but it looks as though the gas is getting between the protective pan (between the tank and the muffler) and the tank itself, which leads me to believe the trouble is on top of the tank. *If* I have to lower the tank and mess with the gasket, I will do the pump, I know it will fail 2 weeks after I finish fixing this leak.

BYOB and a chair I'll let you watch...until I need help LOL.

That would be so awesome, I hate working on my car in the parking lot here. People seem to think that I constantly steal radios out of a Purple Camaro here

GM did a recall for that.

I'd heard about that recall, but until I can verify thats where the leak is I would hate to pay a dealer to replace a 2" chunk of fuel line or a simple gasket.

HOWEVER, in the Body and Interior board they are talking about putting a 4th gen 16 gallon plastic (vs the 13 gallon 11 lb heavier steel one) gas tank in a 3rd gen, as it alledgedly is the same size. I can score a tank as early as Saturday, and if I can get a couple questions answered, I may do that instead.

I have a garage, with compressor and lots of tools, a couple jacks and stands, ramps etc. I could be pursuaded to hold an install day.

Unfortunately I am working all week end. 1330 to 0600 on Saturday and back again 1330 on Sunday afternoon. Gonna be a rough weekend. I think I only have one day off for the next two weeks. Would rather be working on the RS. But that's the way it goes sometimes. Gotta stay focused. Trying to get a house in January or February.

Would still like to put spacers on throttle body and injectors. Might get that done one day.
