do you have any pics of the inside of the hood close up? Like clearance space?

Not right now. What sort of pics do you want?

The whole underside of the hood is finished, so there is not as much space as I thought there would be.

Oh, yeah, I forgot. I will be back in San Antonio around July. Then you could see the hood all you want. I cant wait to get home.

Just to see how much clearance there is... I cant fit an air cleaner under my stock hood.. and I was considering going to a cowl or your hood sometime soon... but I would need about 2 inches or so for clearance of the air cleaner! Where in San Antonio are you from? Im always at the track here (RCR, or SAR the new name, I still call it RCR) and Im 15 miles from it (I'm in Converse).

Big block? Ewwww! Ugly. I really checked those out before I got my SS hood and they are not good looking. I had a bunch of pics of one, and it does not look good on our third gens. If you dont want a cowl, get a SS hood or something else, just not the big block hood.

Its not that I took your idea from you. I have been wanting to get a 'glass hood for a long time. I say go for a nice 2 or 3 inch cowl. Kinda like ******* hood.

You check those out before I told you hwat hood I was getting, my SS hood lol.

And I bet it's just as Ugly as my SLP Runners?

thanks, I know what I like, besides I don't want to be a copy cat ya know.

I saw the big block hood on a Camaro and I like the combination of the cowl and ram air look, I really Don't like the thing int he middle but I can live with it.

I may change my mind over time it WILL be a while beofre I get any hood.

Matt, I am from the I35 and O'Conner area. I own a house on Millers Ridge, about 2 miles east of 35. To be honest, I dont even know where the track is in SA.

If you are worried about clearence for an air cleaner, there is plenty. I has a little more than 2" of clearence. When do you plan on getting a hood?

IIRC I was looking at the big block and the SS at the same time. I finally decided on the SS one because I couldnt bring myself to liking the bump in the middle. I do remember you saying you wanted one. I got a good deal and jumped on it.

You need to come by and check it out. Is the pass still good? You would not be a copy cat if you got one. I think that it would be cool to get more pics of our cars together by the planes if you had one.

And yeah, it is about as ugly. J/K

your real close to me then. I live near Cimarron by Toepperwein and Kitty Hawk. The track is off of I-10, exit 597 (Santa Clara Rd). Its been open for 3 years now, and if you've ever been to Alamo, its about 1 million times better!

So theres 2" or more clearance? Thats good. It will help with lightning up the car a little also! I hate the stock hood with the louvers anyway. Washing it sucks. The water just keeps pouring out of the louvers for about 20 minutes. How much did you get the hood for? And where at?

Sergio,
I will get you one, but today I am going to ******* for a while. Then I have to go to work at 2. Come by the Visitors Center after 2 and I will take care of you.

Jet,
I will figure something out within the next couple of days. I am going on leave tomorrow so I will have time to figure it out.

Matt,
My house is off of O'Conner and Kitty Hawk. Only about 1 mile from you! I have never been to Alamo, but I cant wait to check it out. I got my hood from a guy in CA for 520 shipped. He originally got it from Hawks. Check out the sponsors at the top of the page. They usually go for 450 to 500 plus shipping. Well worth it if you ask me. No more louvers and about half the weight of a stock hood.

yep thats cool man! No, not Alamo, RCR! Alamo has been open forever (25 years give or take) and it is not very good. RCR is very nice, and you will enjoy going there. Thats a lot for the hood! I wasnt sure how much they we're going for....

Last time I was in Penn I noticed a tanning salon on every block. I think people in Washington would develop skin cancer before actually tanning.
