just wondering if putting headers on my 92rs would be too much of a pain in the ***.. ive got opinions from a few buddys and no one really knows not having done it.. has anyone here done it and any recomendations on what kind or better yet a inexpensive shop so i dont have to get dirty :P

don't be lazy... do it your damned self

if you get good headers they go on easy

if you get cheap MIM headers they're a PITA to put on

the passenger side its a pita all the emmission crap is there and you would have to move some of that around to get to the stock manifold.

I just installed some Pacesetter 1336 headers. Easy as pie. The tough part will be the drivers side. I had to remove the ac compressor out of the way(and I think the bracket as well, no biggie). And the emissions. But it was easy. I got my headers coated for $420 and I am happy with them, eventhough my car isn't running and I only drove with them for 40 miles with crap pistons rings and no compression. But they went in easy, no cutting of stock peices or anything. The only thing is the AIR check valves don't screw onto the headers provisions, but they stay on.

Unfortunately I can't give you performance gains or sound bites, because of the problems my car is having, but anything is better thans stock and these look pretty good imho.

The hardest part i had was getting the damn header bolts out since i had the locking washers on the bolts. I bought Mac headers.

It's a little tricky, but anyone can do it. It helps to have a cherry picker around to unbolt an engine mount and lift up/tilt the engine to one side.

bolting on headers is not that bad on a third gen....drivers side is easy...takes about 10 to 15 minutes tops.......on the other hand the drivers side can be a killer.....it took me and my brother about 2 hours....reason being because the last bolt inside the engine, way back in there...i think the one near #7 piston is a pita...that one alone took us about 45 hour (both of us have big hands) and then another 1/2 to screw the bolt in when installing the headers...careful with the oil dip stick cuz you might break it like we did....or i did....we did not remove anything....i also got rid of the AIR system while i was at it.....thats it....not biggie...its a little hard but if you are not afraid of trying to do things yourself and learn then you will have fun...feels good afterwards....at least me since i am learning....good luck and if you already did it..nice

headers are normally cake i was just getting some other opinions on a 3rd gen camaro because tuning that thing up was such a pita
