The Next Event

Our next event will be the June meeting at Power Chevrolet of Valencia. After that, it'll either be the Dyno Day, or a bar-b-q/picnic at Mile Square Park in June or July. What month and what day (Sat/Sun) do you guys prefer?

Where is Mile Square Park?
Are there any plans for a 4th of July event?

I see a golf course there. Anybody play? Maybe a little club tournament?

I'd like a BBQ and Dyno day! I can help cook and can do the tri-tip but the price of meat has increased so folks would have to chip in.

the sc3g.org board is down. What date is the June meeting?

Don't worry about the price of tri tip. One of my customers is a slaughter house. I can get the tri tip. I just need a date.

The next meeting is June 5th. What dates do you guys want to meet for a bar-b-q? Maybe the afternoon of the 5th and then have the meeting at the park?

June 5th is my son's trap shoot in Tulare. If he decides not to go then I'll be at the monthly meeting. I can't commit to a BBQ on June 5th.

Russ - that is excellent news. If you can get the tip then maybe you can do the marinade as well. If not no biggy. That last boklava (sp?) was the bomb so I know you've got some kitchen skills, I can trust you'll do the marinade proper.

I'm really interested in a Dyno day and BBQ. I'll get room so I don't have to drive so far in one day.

At the risk of sounding stupid, what is a trap shoot?

I don't have a clue on the marinade. I figured the tri tip would be a good excuse to make a run up the coast a week or so early to drop it off for you to do your magic. June 5th just cuts things too close for me. I'm going to be busy Memorial weekend, and June 5th is the next week. I won't be able to get off during the day on June fifth, but I hope to make the meeting that evening. Even if a bar-b-que is scheduled on a day that I can't make, with enough lead time I'll get the meat, and deliver it to Dwayne for some secret marinade.

That is where the Southern California Thirdgeneration F-Body Club meets once a month for fun and discussion. It happens on the first Saturday of every month, usually. BTW- I HATE WORKING WEEKENDS!!! Haven't been to one meeting yet

Actually, its every other month, the even ones. February, April, June, August, October, and December. Most of the time the meetings are at Valencia Chevy, but not always.

Also known as skeet shooting. Basically, you launch some clay pigeons in the air and blast 'em with a shot gun.

Trap shooting is when clay frisbee like things fly out of a bunker like house and you shoot them in the air.

Skeet shooting is similar but the "birds" (clay frisbees) come out of 2 separate houses and are not as consistant in the area that you shoot. Skeet has birds comming in the air, on the ground, flying high or skimming the earth. Skeet is hard for me.

Any way my 9 year old son is the youngest on the team and is shooting as well as the 3 year veterans. I'm really pround of that little ****. At least he was this morning. My kids are more moody then a soap opera during menopause. Gotta luv em though.

Nothing like giving a moody 9 year old a shotgun.

Good thing my daughter isn't into this. Most of California wouldn't be safe.

I can't make anything on any Saturday afternoon. I've used all of my vacation time or else it is committed for this year. I plan to be at the meeting on Saturday night.

I work Tuesday through Saturday. I have Sun & Mon off. It is getting to be the time of year when I never know what time I'll get off work. Refrigeration can get crazy in hot weather. Since my "anniversary date" at work is July 18, I get new vacation days after July 18. I'm expecting that the dyno day Don is trying to set up at Magnaflow will be sometime after July 18. If it is, I'm going to save a vacation day for that. If I get early enough warning and we want to do a bar-b-que and Dwayne can make it down, I can get tri tip a week before and take it to Dwaynes house for him to work his magic on it.

So what exactly are we doing. Are we having the meeting at Power Chevrolet and the BBQ another time/day or the BBQ and Meeting the same day at the park.

There's just the meeting next Saturday the 5th at Valencia Chevy. The Bar-B-Q will be at a later date to be planned at the meeting, along with the date for the dyno day.
