Cali Speaks

Yes indeed I must say.. That I felt I must have fell into a cloud and not speak much.. I really was put in a position where I could not speak much of what has been going on with myself and what has happened..

I guess I should say that I have done my best the past 5 years to learn as much as I could about 3rdgen's and Build my car to the performance level I needed..

Then we have some members hitting me with Low ball calls.. That just helped.. All I have spoken was that everyone treat each other with respect. And especially here..

Let's move down the cloud.. A few members wanted to get more involved in track events and, They were gave a Shine that they could not compete In the Ranks Of Fastest So Ca 3rdgen as they were not smog legal.. Something I BrandenCali Came up with Event.. For that Lil Board to list everyone's Names.. So we Know Right Now Who is the Fastest So Ca 3rdgen.. We are all a team.. We all are leaders to 3rdgen.. We must keep this alive.. Everyone must do there best to be supportive.. So there Must be a change..

I had a battle after the car was built.. A few things Flung and Frustrations are real.. But all reality life goes on and We learn as the World Turns.. Im not giving up.. Im still doing my best.. Recently here I had my starter bolts come loose and The Hi Tq starter just ripped a few teeth out.. So Im in the process of getting that started.. Once that's said and done.. I can get back an see where this motor is at.. Im looking to be at the next Track Day..

Ok so thats a start..

This might be confusing yes..

I was tired of all the B.S and Rumors.. And the Blames.. That direct towards 3rdgen members.. There has been a few things in the past that has still reflected on to another day..

Over the passed 2 years here.. We have reflected Nothing but drag racing.. As an Event.. And There has not been any positive plans to any further events..

We always seem to have a bicker with Racing..
I spent More than you..
Oh you spent way to much..
You are capable of more..
Why cant you go any faster..

Im really lost to what it is about.. One year we had a member that was fastest So Ca 3rdgen.. And Im not sure if there was any words Good Job.. Or did people feel they just did not deserve it..

Meetings.. All I have heard over the years.. Is Complaints of the location.. Complaints of this that.. And the Word is always Standing around.. Do we still yet know from the people that there is a new location and are they comfortable with it..

So this is a start..

I just think that as time goes by plans change for things. I mean people get into other hobbies, or purchase homes, begin to plan families, work commitments and so on. IMHO the most important thing is to support an online community where people are not afraid to introduce themselves and ask questions to help keep their thirdgen going (or to modify it) make friends, and stay in touch with one another.

Note to self:

-Never get married again
-Ditch the girlfriend
-Forget about that new home purchase
-Spend more money on Camaro...

At least the home can appreciate though, and of course provide you someplace to park and work on your Camaro

Now the others...lets not go there

Branden, theres only about 10 people that post here regularly go drag racing. If we post about it alot, its because we are involved and like to talk about it. I haven't met with any bickering (unless you count Mike's BS.) Naturally there is competition to be in the top spot, but there is fun getting there too. Maybe if you raced your car you might feel differently. I doubt it.

What other events are you thinking about ? If you'd like more you should organize them. There's a cruise coming up in may and there are people planning to go to go-kart tracks. For me, I like going to the local car shows to see cars and hang out, but I'm not going to enter my car with a dinged up bumper and the clear coat falling off.

I didn't hear any of the 20 or so people at the last meeting complain about the location, but maybe they are shy like me.

It’s called marketing and to date my B.S. has yielded some of the largest events our group has ever experienced. It takes skill, tact, perseverance, and the fine art of knowing when and how to dance on the razors edge.

Now Julie.. Im not going to go back and take everyone's qoutes an post them here.. Everything I know does not all come from here.. So don't expect me to do so to prove where things come from..

So now regards to Racing.. You think I don't fully understand the fact that this is the area where the Discussion takes place..
All I presented was the passed 2 years the club has entirely been in focus with Drag Racing..

As far as the last meeting I know nothing about it..

Mike's Bickering.. Well I think most know Mike Speaks what he feels.. And he has said it well.. And With Mike and what he speaks.. There is a Reason for it all..

As for me Organizing event's.. I have posted a few idea's over the years.. And There is much More that we could possibly do.. What we leave this with is it's Up to the People..

Mike is definitely responsible for some of the largest and the funniest gatherings of 3rd gens I have taken part in! With that being said anyone regardless of their affiliation to any particular group, meaning club or other, can suggest events, the fact is that is has always been difficult to get people together and to find a location with the proper facilities to handle the logistics of a car gathering. That would be the main reason why the drag races have been the showcase for years for members to get together and have some fun. I have tried the club thing several times and overall it's mostly a waste of time, I think that BBs are great! They provide pretty much the perfect forum for a distributed group to 'gather' and have discussions. I would also like to thank those who keep making an effort to organize events so that we do have opportunity to get out and see one another

That is very true Randy..

I believe all we can do is keep working towards planning gatherings and different event's..
And from there that makes meetings very Important..

I have not been the best to make meetings myself.. Most of the time if my face is seen it's a surprise.. I have had a small battle with my 3rdgen.. Most know I have been working towards modifying the car.. Or I have had difficult times keeping it running in good mechanical condition to make meetings.

Don't get me wrong about the drag racing subject.. I do understand how much hard work and efforts people are working towards to reach better goals.. It is an awesome thing..

It's a New Season.. And all we can do is work towards more fun..

Keith and I have driven up from San Diego to the meetings the last two times. We haven't complained.

Obviously, people enjoy the meetings and gatherings. The one at the beginning of this month had about 15 cars show up, and many other people, including myself and Keith, couldn't bring their thirdgen. If everyone had brought theirs, I bet there could have been 30 thirdgens in that lot. I personally enjoy the meetings. I'm still just feeling my way around my car and half the time, I don't know what the hell people are talking about, but it's still a good time.

I have yet to experience this lack of events that you're talking about. Nearly every time I come on the SoCal boards, someone is mentioning something new. There's a show here, meet me there, track results, etc.

I guess I don't really understand your complaint. I haven't seen you at a meeting yet, and from what I understand, you haven't shown up to race. Of the two events that happen regularly, you never seem to make it. If there were more events, it would just be new things that you don't show up at.

Maybe I misunderstood, and if so, I apologize. But I think that the events that we have are fun, and if anything, more people are getting involved. More events would be cool, but if there were more, less people would show up. Let me tell you, I'm not making the drive from San Diego to LA to go Go Karting every weekend.

I think you did misunderstand.. Hey I did not need any low ball Shot's about Hey you have not seen me.. I have no clue who you are.. And most know why Im unable to make meetings currently.. So maybe you should have asked 1st.. Don't judge shots from what you have not seen or know about.. This thread is not working.. Some have said what they had on there mind and this is what was spoken.. And that's good enough..

This thread keeps apearing so I finally read it.

Are these your only friends in life? are you on some kind of anti depressant we don't know about?

Personally, And I think its very apparant, I could give a crap if anyone here doesn't like me. If there is something this club is doing and it looks like fun for me, I show up and I have a good time. If I don't have a good time, then I don't go back.

The only event I did not care for and kindof knew ahead of time but tried it anyways because it had been years since I did a highschool style culb meeting and cruise was the Sonics gathering. I left before the cruise and will not attend another one ever. Its not my cup of tea. However, I take no offense towards anyone becuase I did not particularly care for it- everyone else did seem to enjoy did themselves and continue to gather. I just did that kind of stuff too much in my younger days and am burned out on it.

I'm not taking low ball shots, I'm sorry if you took it as such. I have met you, once at Don's shop, and yes, I have an idea why you're not at meetings, you explained it to me when we met. That said, I still don't really understand if you can't make it to events, why do we need more?

Very Understandable Dean..

I know most everyone is wondering why is Branden on this gathering event subject.. I needed to know the information.. And Randy and Mike explained it very well..
