I split your question off into a new thread, because it is better to ask a question and reference the old thread, rather than bring an old ancient thread back to top.

September 25th. After the Solo II / Pro Solo nationals being held in Topeka Kansas. Being put on by the GRA "Chevy" club. Wich means that it will be long and FAST. People will be going just to kill off whats left of their Nats tires to be ready for new.

Sounds like a blast!
I guess that means I should actually spend some time and set my car up, give it an alignment (never did do that after replacing the strut mounts and lowering), replace the shot front tires, figure out whats the deal with the brakes, find out why my PS doesnt like repeated turns, and most of all... FILL UP THE DAMN TANK!
Lest I be accused of trying to be competitive when I go ahead and show up anyway...

After doing this again after a few years I remembered how boring it is sitting around all day.
I doubt if I will ever go autoxing again, especially since this car was built for street use and I will not be tweaking it for better track time nor putting racing rubber on it.
Even though this car handles and brakes well, it is downright boring to race- its the wifes grocery getter.
Unless money talks.

I just don't see this car ever having raw power that is fun even with a supercharger. That will just help it get onto the freeway with passengers in the car.
This car goes from about a 15.8 sec car with only myself in it to about a 17.5 sec car with my wife and daughter and a few beach chairs and towels in it also. Every little bit of weight is so noticible in performance loss with this little motor. The supercharger will only kindof compensate for lack of embarassment when I am fully loaded and trying to accelerate onto the freeway at full throttle. It gets that all noise and no-go feeling.
This is a great freeway driver though when its rollin at speed, its just getting up there that kills ya. It seems to go from 80-120 faster than it takes from 0-80 because it sits nicely through the powerband in 3rd rather than lagging out of the band from 1st to 2nd and then 2nd to D

Yea I guess your right
There is no hope for it
FIX the VETTE! Quit wasting your time and money on that 6 then.
Or do i have to call out that vette to get you motivated
Max here is a starting point for Autocross use
zero toe, maximum positive castor both sides, and -1 deg. camber both sides. check tire pressures and side wall roll over
after each run. Adjust as needed

The Vette is not broken. My father has been driving it for the past few years to car shows and such and he had the alignment reset for street use. I have no clue as to where he set it and would have to take it down to Jon and get it realigned for autoX since I have no reference as to what the settings are right now. I used to have colored shims and everything degreed out so I could make changes for different uses but those are gone,
I also need new racing tires- Not going to spend the money on that. I can not run this car on the 15" street tires- its scary as all heck and bobbles everywhere.
3rdly, I am getting to damn old to muscle that car around that track without powersteering on it. I would have to upgrade that.
I will build the Mini in a few years with a Vtec motor in it and it'll be a fun little rocketship (11sec 1/4s and 45MPG) 197hp on a 1200lb car in stock form/ It woun't be stock either.
Acura Vtec cars weight in at about 2600lbs and do about a high 14sec 1/4
I finished the upstairs outside remodel on my house two weeks ago and am now gutting the inside upstairs for a massive remodel.
I have about 4 more years on the house and its finished (I was about 6 years into it and then I took about 1 1/2 years of time and money to redo the Camaro since it was getting old (cheaper than buying a new car) I am kindof done screwing with cars for the moment unless something major cuts loose.

For the others, stock alignment (at least on WS6, FE2, and the rest probably as well) calls for 1 degree positive camber. Ever wonder why your tires always wear the outside edges? Well, the tires are always tilted that way. Do yourself a favor and run 0 or negative and keep your outer edges happier.
Try 1/32 to 1/16 toe out. The car will turn in much better with toe out than zero or toe in. On my car, it's one turn on the tie rod for my alignment so it's real easy to do. The next thing to do is draw an outline around your strut towers then losen up the bolts and shove the towers back and towards the motor. This is known as the 5 minute autox alignment because it takes about 5 minutes to do
BTW, I keep the towers shoved back and over all the time. I only change the toe when driving on street tires.

Toe out is something that is best left at the track. I would never recommend toe out to someone that drives their car on the street.
To flat dangerous at highway speeds. Only toe it out if you can or feel like resetting it after the event to drive home.

Just have to keep awake
The car will follow ruts on the highway but otherwise not bad. Have driven back to Kansas with toe out. Made Glenwood Springs Canyon very nice
Toe out will wear the inside of the tire faster. Don't ask me how I know

Glen you are a very experienced driver. You could do that. I just like to be over cautious and think safety. Rather than have someone with less experience take a risk "before" they know just what kind of reaction a car can make "toed out" in a emergency situation at above fwy speeds. Just think safety.

I was hoping we could have some fun beating on each other at the autocross
