It's time again.. 3rdgen lately
After having the transmission problem.. I was hoping the filter had fell into the bottom of the pan.. The other day I dropped the trans pan and found mucky clutch material.. Not good news.. Hopefully I will be able to start the rebuild process soon..

You have too much power.
By the way with 389RWHP you should be in the 11's. You've got to take your car to the track. Allen
By the way with 389RWHP you should be in the 11's. You've got to take your car to the track. Allen New EGR, Crappy new KDW tires (hate 'em), new custom made muffler on order for homemade catback buildup... other than that I have been focusing on the house- started a major renovation of the upstairs inside and out- outside is finished, now gutting the inside and it may take me aprox 2 years to finish this project (working weekends or whatever days off I can schedule- keep in mind I work full time and need some free days off for fun- It can't be all work all the time, andI refuse to hire excuse happy contractors) Its major will be my master bedroom and master bath when finished. Daughter has the original master downstairs.
So don't expect too many new car project coming from me.

Dean, where did you get a custom muffler made? I might have to go that route if Magnaflow does not make my muffler. Allen
Allen, I am trying something unique to a thirdgen. At least I have never seen it but others may have.
Since I have a small diplacement motor I can get away with a 2.5" exhaust ( the company will make them in 3" inlet & outlet, yet I believe the 3" will still only have a 2 1/2" core).
I have ground clearance issues wth the car being lowered so diameter is important and these are only 3 1/2" outside diameter. What I am doing is positioning the muffler in place of the I-pipe running parallel to the driveshaft. The straight section (no bending included) of my current exhaust routing is 33" long. I am having StainlessWorks custom make me a "Smooth Tube" muffler 32" long to fit into this section. As long as I can possibly fit there for best noise control while miniming flow restrictions since it is straight through with baffles.
Then, I plan to keep the normal exhaust route up over the axle yet have the exhaust then route directly back and a mostly hidden 2 1/2" turndown exiting at the rear bumper. It will be a single exit and as straight and simple of an exhaust routing on the car as possible. That factory rear muffler setup is so bulky back there. I currently have had a Flowmaster80 on it for several years with dual 1.75" exits- thats going.
SW is making it custom for me to 32" and polishing it for $159 with a 2 1/2" baffled core, not the standard 2"core
This is what it will look like:

"IF" the car is still too loud still then (backup plan) I will then try a Borla XR-1 muffler tip on the rear section exit instead of the turndown. It'll tuck right up into that cavity just to the right of the fueltank that is 8" wide. Borla part # 40641 (It has the same smooth tube polished look as the SW muffler I am having made, so they would look like the same manufacturer and have continuity)
I already have a Magnaflow bullet muffler right now in place of my Cat when I do not need the Cat for smogchecks. I have SS Vclamp collars (ones just like Jerry has on his setup) That will go on each side of the cat and this muffler for quick replacement of the catalytic conv. They are going on when I install the rest of the system

What I am trying to do is to get all this heavy exhaust routings off the back of the car for polar weight reduction and so you can see the suspension and not the ugly Flowmaster.
