ok i bought a car from ebay seller said he had a lien packet and would get the title so i can ship the car its been 2-3 weeks just wondering if i got taken

It looks like he bought a car from socal and the seller is telling him he just needed to send the money to whoever gave him the loan so he can get the pink slip and send it to him with the car he just bought

 

yeah the car is in california i am in canada and i wanted to know the the title situation was in california so i could find out if i am being jerked around

 

I'm assuming he'd have to wait to get paper work from whoever made the loan then send that to the dmv. The dmv always takes a long time maybe 2 to 3 weeks or so

 

Hard to say. If it had a lien, the lienholder is holding the title and have to sign off on it after its paid, then the seller can give that to you.

 

Ive backed out of two cars because of this situation... using your money to pay off their car loan... =/... just dont trust it...

Sounds like the bank still has the title. Most banks are slow sending out the title after it has been paid off. I sell cars wholesale and run into this all the time. Most dealerships send the "payoff" in the form of a bank check overnight with a prepaid overnight envelope for the title. Even with all of that it still usually takes about two weeks. If he sent it regular mail with a normal checking account check or even paid it online it could take up to a month before he gets a title.

 

ok thanks for the info like i said i don't know the whole story i just knid of wondered what the time frame for this could take i am going to try his phone number in a couple hours to see if he answers so i can find out whats going on.
