how hard is it to lower the rear end

how hard is it to lower the rear end

i need to lower my rear end so i can put my air bags in the springs. how hard is this to do, any tips to help me out any??

put jack stands on the rear frame rails so that the rear is just floating off the ground, after that i guess u need to take the lower bolts out that hold the shocks to the rear end. after that take out the bolts of the lower control arms that also connect to the rear end. before you start taking the bolts out i would put a jack under the rear end housing and hold it in place and once the bolts are out, just lower the rear ned slowly untill the rear springs are loose enough to take out.

yeah thats what i figured, didnt know if there were any tips on doing it, or any problem areas. so then this is a pretty straight forward job then.. thanks for the help!

can i do it with the tires on? or do they have to come off? also, where do you think i should put the valve for the airbags?

i am not sure, i never had airbage before, but i would say that u have the vavle so where u can adjust it if needed.

i was thinking about putting the valve in the wheelwell on the back wall...its a thin plastic so it will be nice and easy
