well that's not entirely accurate. SUPPOSEDLY, Spohn will be making them again when they finish "retooling" their production line. That message has been on their site for months though, so who really knows. you can check it out in the products catalog at www.spohn.net

In a recent email from him (like Monday) which was actually regarding his 1LE components he's selling he said that the SFCs will be back in production very soon (like everybody's heard) and that the wait will definitely be worth it. That they had some growing pains but should be back in business soon.

With that said, I'm going to wait as I don't have the money for them at this time anyway.

What I don't understand is why he can't just jump on here for a few minutes and give us a heads up on whats going on. It only takes a few minutes to post and it would appease alot of people. He used to be a regular here and now he has disappeared enitirely. Then again if I was getting flamed as much as him I wouldn't stick around either.

I agree. I think it would be a great show of professionalism and 3rd gen loyalty to AT LEAST jump on this damn board and say something to us. I think with all the business he MIGHT be getting soon, it would be worth it.

And you'd think the moderator of this section would show every now and then.

Ya know he does shot up from time to time here. If I remember right it is him and his father that is Spohn Performance. Just think if one of you guys had your name plastered all over the net on various thirdgen and 4th gen boards ordering parts that are all damn near hand made. Do that for 8-12 hours 6 days a week. Now do you really think after working on nothing but car parts for hours and hours ya would want to sit here and read the net.. I know that I wouldnt. I'd sleep all the day that I had off lol

Give theguy some slack. The dood is busier than what most of you think.

Thanks Kat, you're a very wise man

I actually read this board every single day, always have, always will. My job as moderator is to be sure things remain civil, which they do, this is probably the most mature board on this website, which makes Ede and myself's job very easy.

I don't post near as much as I had in the past simply because I don't have as much time. I work 10-12 hours days, 6-7 days a week, then come home and answer 50-75 emails every night

I've also found there are certain individuals with hidden agendas who like to twist around every word I post, and those games get old fast.

Feel free to email me anytime.

Steve

Congrats on the expanding business steve, i'll be putting your sfc's torque arm, and all that ofther stuff i got from you a few years back through it's paces again real soon on the Z28.

I do have a queston for ya. If i dont' hear back on ya from here, i'll email you.

I'm going to need a driveshaft loop on the Z28, and I have the original style adjustable torque arm, Is there a way for me to order a DS loop that mounts to the torque arm from you, cause i don't remember seeing one on the website for the old style one like i have.

Take it easy steve, and keep up the good work

Alright here's my question... a LOT of people are waiting for these SFCs, and I'm in the market to have some installed, as well. I would just like to know what makes Spohn's so much better than say Moog or other manufacturers that everyone would wait this long. I'm really not looking to belittle anyone at all, and if there's a significant difference, I'll be getting the better set. I just would like to know.

Well I like Spohn’s products because his products are the same or better (normally better) then his competitors products at a much lower price. You just can't beat his deals.

Steve Spohn,
I was really hopping you would say something about when your SFC are coming out or anything about them in your post.

Steve,

I understand that you are very busy. I'm not questioning that. But there are alot of people on this board that like your products alot (including me) and are willing to wait for them, especially if it's going to be done very soon. Now if they are not going to be done soon just say so. If you are having problems retooling then thats cool, I'm sure most of us will understand. If it's going to take a year let people know so they aren't hopelessly waiting for something that won't be out in a time frame that works for them. There might be an initial backlash if it's going to be a while but people will appriciate being told the truth and will accept it.

Since you are a mod here you can make a "sticky", lock it, and post updates as things progress. Nothing long if your busy, just things that might change the release date of the SFC's. If you're too busy I'm sure ede could set it up for you or something. This would also dispell any problem with people twisting your words. Insted of people coming on here and saying "Steve wrote me this in an email..." or "Steve told me...", it would be up there under your name and people can interpret (sp?) it how they like.

Oe last thing, I agree with 89 Iroc Z, we finally see a post from you, but nothing about the SFC's?? If you were going to reply to defend yourself why not add a little bit about the whole reason you had to defend yourself? I appoligize for coming after you like that but this whole thing has kinda frustrated me, along with my issues with your relocation brackets but that is another post altogether. Please give us something to renew our faith in you.

Jim

Jim,

You saved me time by saying exactly what was needed. Couldn't have put it better myself. I'm starting to think that there is a problem and the dalay will be significant enough for me and one of my friends to start looking into other products. I want the Spohn SFCs but don't plan on waiting anywhere a year for them.

I agree with Spohn products too!!!!!!

I just ordered the Lower control arms, panhard rod, and trans.
mount for my F-body. If the SFCs were available, I 'd buy them
too!

Thank you Steve and everyone at Spohn Performance!

I saved A LOT of money by purchasing your stuff!
( compared to the other companies!)

I can't wait to get them and install them!!!!!

Later.

Well...

Hey all.

As was alluded to by Kat, Steve works in concert with his father, not a fifty-plus-man shop with a shipping department, design arm, marketing department, etc. The large companies have us spoiled when it comes to product availability. It is not Steve's fault (nor ours).

That reference to professionalism falls on deaf ears here in light of the fact that when a person puts in such hours, in a business run within his own family, in a market as fickle as the automotive aftermarket, he/she exemplifies professionalism . I feel borderline guilty when I can make good money on a locked-down forty-hour week with no weekend work, and then email a request to someone who has just been fabricating for over half of a day, knowing full well he will take all the time necessary to send me a proper response.

Steve has proven his loyalty to the marque and the thirdgenners with the server donation (has Jegs/SSM/Hotchkis sent a penny to this site?...), the quality of his products, and the tolerance for the crap from those who do not understand what happens when low-volume production capability runs head-on into higher-than-expected demand. (Who could have known that, with all the companies out there, Spohn would get the recognition and {excess} business it deserves?)

BTW when I ordered my driveshaft I received very prompt replies from Steve on the status of its construction and shipping. Steve was there when I had questions, and I will be there when his subs are ready. (Heck, if the 'Bird hadn't held up so well after 114K of my driving, I would be rebuilding the entire chassis with Steve's help right now )

Peace,

Ken

Since Steve is a moderator on this board, he might not think that its right to sell his products, when he's supposed to be "moderating". That could be seen by others as taking advantage of his priveledges.

But he is also a sponsor. which gives him the right to advertise new products on this board as far as I know. Besides when this many people are asking about a single product I think it is more then appropriate that the manufacturer come on and answer questions, even if they aren't a sponsor.
