spindle problem (not 3rd gen related, s10 blazer)
I took off my caliper on the passenger side and i couldnt get it back on because there were absolutely no thread left on the sterring knuckle, any ideas to fix it other than replacing the spindle with a new one, has anyone has a similar problem with any car, i cant believe there were no threads left, i mean its practically smooth inside, i bet it's been jumping around alot and ground them down, the previous owner didnt take very good care of it, hell the rear shocks were "seized" onto the truck, anyway how much will a new spindle cost, i hear about 350, hopfully junkyarddog.com will find somthing good, anyway any ideas would be awesome, thanks in advance.
p.s. i already tried to use the correct tap, the hole is simply too ( i think it just wallowed itself out) big for the tap, and the oem bolts, the bolts which i just bought new.

don't think you can get a thread insert in the size you need. might want to consoder welding then redrill and tapping it, you can use the caliper to transfer the hole location to the part. i'd be careful welding the spindle. might want to have some sort of NDT done after it's welded if you do that. not sure if there would be anything using a caliper bolt one size larger, metric would help stay closer to what you have that you might just drill and tap, but you'd have to change bushing i nthe caliper too if you did that.
