Massive Understeer!!! HELP
Hello People. This last saturday, I went on a canyon run with one of the guys in my 3rd gen club (RedRocket) and he has everything possible done to the suspension of the car. Anyways, He was running some lines for me to follow and I found that my car has a massive amount of understeer. You can see my suspension mods in my signature. I know the mods arent much, but I have driven stock 3rd gens that werent nearly as tight as my car. Its a 92 Z28 and even when it was stock i could get the *** end to drift on me, but now i cant. The front tires will scream through the turns and if I try and over steer, the tires end up understeering more. Make sense? How can i correct this problem? I want the back end loose so i can drift the car. HELP!

Jason,
Your car should be handling pretty good with those mods. How were you entering the turns? What was your driving line like? When were you braking?
It may be due to your current driving style. Without really watching you drive it's kinda tough to say what the problem is.

Well, dont get me wrong, the car handles awsome, and even RedRocket says that the car is sure comming along and shook my hand. James was behind me and says that I am steering late in the turn and that would make sense, but even when I would apex the turn, it still would do it. If I break at all, I break slightly entering the turn and accelerate hard comming out of it. My breaks suck as it is so I try not to use them. I need to relearn my whole car.

Well FWIW, maybe this diagram will help you.

Are you gonna do the cruise in October?

I think once you put in the wonderbar it will improve alot, it did for me. You could see Jason turning for the turn but it wasn't enough to keep his intended line and on RH turns you could see it good. I know with my suspension mods once I turn in it will keep that line no matter what. Even through bumps and road irregularities.
