Am I missing a rear sway bar?

You will have to ignore my ignorance so to say. I put a new Moser 9" rear in my car. To the rear of the rear, I have 2 bars. On runs left to right and is straight and the other runs top right to bottom left (viewing car from the rear). Is there supposed to be another bar that goes along the rear at the bottom? Where is the swaybar mounted? Will this cause me to lose traction. Im only running a 1.9 60'. Mods in sig.

the two bars you are seeing are the panhard bar and its support brace. not all f-bodies were equipped with a rear swaybar

No bar was attatched to it. Will a swaybar give me better performance as far as 1/4 mile ET and traction or is it just added weight? I would love to get my front tire off the ground.

For drag style racing I'm not sure. I just swapped in new front/rear BMR bars & noticed better handling in the curves. I do remember the manual mentioning that not all cars were factory equipped with the rear bar.

Your car should have a sway bar.It would be bolted to the rear and to the body.ALL F-bodies origionally have sway bars.

Base model type cars did NOT come with a rear sway bar. I have a kit that will allow you to mount a rear sway bar if you chose to do so, it includes the end link mounts for the frame, etc.

For DRAG RACING you should drop the front bar but you definitely want a rear bar! Makes a world of difference in controlling body roll on launch, helps distribute weight transfer evenly to the rear tires, etc. The bigger the rear bar the btter when it comes to 60' performance.

If you have a GTA it came with a sway bar. Early third-gen base model cars had no sway bar(mine included). The sway bar will help keep the car level(side to side) when you launch. Without it the right rear will probably be lower than the left when you launch, hurting traction.
