i understand the purpose of building aftermarket panhard bar to improve performance but what about the panhard brace. it looks some what flimsy too. is there any company out there that makes an upgrade for the brace. i figure if you upgrade the panhard bar it would exceed the ability of the brace and it should be upgraded as a unit.

 

there is no aftermarket panhard bar brace and i dont think anyone is planning on producing one either.

even GM has upgraded components on the special vehicles. if it was strong enough then why spend the extra money. just take one out of the parts bin.

Yes, it was considered at one point however, the space limitations of the area
prevent much of an improvement. Since, on full suspension compression, the
panhard rod goes up inside the panhard rod brace on the passenger side, the
brace must be either made of c-channel or relocated to clear it entirely. With
all the aftermarket exhausts out there, it is almost impossible to relocate this
brace and keep it clearing the various exhaust routes. Basically, it could be
done on a custom, per car basis as a "one-off" part, but it would be almost
impossible to make one part to fit all applications, sorry.

Uhm, Global West has made both parts for about 12 years now...

 

are you sure they make the panhard brace?

 

The panhard rod bracket is spot welded to the frame which is why I think GM required a brace for it - stamping a brace is cheaper than welding the bracket in complete - like at the axle

So why not have the bracket completely welded or at least strengthen the connection to the frame and ditch the brace
