I know Steve is really busy so i'll ask someone else in case he can't answer. His old SFC's looked to cover more area underneath and looked like they'd be more ridgid and solid and make more of a difference. These new tubular one's look like they don't cover much area, wouldn't be as solid and wouldn't make much of a difference. Is this right? I know this may sound stupid, but I just want to be sure they'll hold up just as well (maybe better) as the old one's he sold would.

I have a question about powder coating... If the connectors come coated? do you have to grind them off to weld them????
There's a place here that will put square tubing ones in $425 installed but not coated, they are pretty well recommended...
I can paint them and the car after.
$225 for most, but thirdgen camaro's are a pain in the a$$.
If I buy Steve's I'm looking at $350 CAD and that's before I pay shipping.

for the best weld yes you should clear off any coatings whatsoever. so to me it seems foolish to get them pre-powdercoated. i am just going to por 15 mine when i get them. if they are bolt ins, im not sure if steve is also going to sell bolt in sfcs, but then get them pre powdercoated.
Check this thread out for a good discussion of the strength of Steve's old SFCs vs his new ones...

Basically, his new SFCs are both more rigid (ie stronger) and weigh noticably less then the old ones.
Yes, you do need to grind off the powdercoat when welding them in. No, he doesn't sell any bolt-on SFCs. It's not difficult to touch up the weld spots after installation. Easier then painting the entire subframe connector after installation, not to mention the difficulty of getting 100% coverage all around the connector after it's installed. They fit very snug to the undercarriage of the car if properly installed, making it hard to get to all the areas between the connectors and the undercarriage.

I don't currently have any cat on my car(aircaer loved me), I'm going to be putting a 350 in it at some point..
So is it worth it to get the dual cat SFCs cause they will also work with a single cat? And if I end up going dual cat it already fits..
I'm not in a hurry atm cause I really don't have any money

hey I want to order the SFCs, but I have one problem. My mechanic that usually does my work says he wants to install them on a standard lift. I say he needs to have it lifting with out the suspension being compressed/twisted when jacked up on the control arm or wherever.
Should I find another mechanic or is this acceptable?
