Hint: Better check Spohn's SFC site
Ordered my Spohn SFC's on Sept 28th and received the shipping
Date of Oct 4, 2002 with my Fedex tracking number with the receiving date of Oct 8th. Now that is fast turnaround on this order. I give Spohn Performace a AAA+ on getting this new product out. So if you were waiting because of a backup, forget it and place your order. Will be installing in the next two weeks.

Update:
Fedex delivered the Spohn SFC's today as scheduled. They look good in the box with the Red Powder Coating, the shipping weight was 28 lbs. The instruction for installation could be more detailed in my opinion. They are scheduled to be installed on my 1987 IROC this Monday and I will update how the installation went.

Spohn in my opinion is great iwht customer service and with shipping swiftness. But as for FED EX they suck ****...maybe not to the mainland but to hawaii htey suck. Damn 2 day service that comes in 4 days.
Well the Spohn Tube Type SFC's are installed, And they did not go in without problems. Drivers side was ok, but the passenger side was a bitch according to my installer. My SLP exhaust had to be moved, the heat shield for the convertor had to be cut off for clearance and the support tube had to be modified before welding. So its not a easy install.
Just drove the IROC for a few miles so its to early to tell if the SFC's are making a difference. Anyone else install these new SFC's yet??
Lets hear some comments on Spohn's easy install.

Sounds like everything that is clearly covered in the instructions. You may have to remove the heat shield for the converter to install the pass. side "Y" piece and you may have to loosen the y-pipe connections and make adjustments so everything clears each other.
People tell me these stories all the time. The installers make a mountain out of a mole hill to justify their inflated labor charge. I've installed SFCs on every type of thirdgen with every type of y-pipe and exhaust you can think of, has never taken longer then 3 hours, usually done in 2.
I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.

If in the future I'm going to have a 350 with dual cats (or the possibility of)
is it worth it to get the ones that are for dual cats?

Last update on the install and results with the Spohn SFC's(new style). Well after puting a few miles on various road surfaces with the IROC, I can definitely tell the SFC's and my other Spohn
supension items did tighten the car up. It has a very solid feel to it. Sorry no pictures of the installation mayby later. Spohn sells a good quality product and it is worth the money for the results, a
very good Mod.
Only bad point of this installation is the loss of the Catalytic conv. heat shield. I still do not know what the results of this will be to the floor board on the passenger side.

SteveSpohn,
Is it safe to assume that you install sub frame connectors @ your place also, and if so, what would it cost to have them installed in an '85 Iroc, single cat converter? Also, how much do you charge to install the lower control arm relocation brackets? Thanks for the info, heard a lot of great things about your product, and wanna go with it!!

Don't worry about losing the heat shield, it doesn't do much anyway. Of all the installs I've done, the SLPs are usually the only time you have to remove the heat shield.
We do installs here. SFC installation is $150.00. Relocation bracket installation is $35.00.

Another question for Steve or anyone with the OLD boxed style SFCs;
I was trail fitting mine this afternoon and couldn't get the passenger side bar in all the way due to the cat and heat shield interference.
If you don't have to remove the heat shield, you have to drop the Y pipe, right? I will be going with SLPs so I guess I'll remove it anyway.
Steve, can I get a set of your install instructions? I dont' have any. I'd just like to make sure this goes smooth as possible...and see your recommended weld spots.
I may just wait to install them until I drop the exhaust and install headers and a new cat back next year.
