Aftermarket brakes

I'm looking for a set of new pads, rotors, and if possible, calipers for my 91 RS V6 Camaro...I want to build her into an autocross car..it's already got incredibly handling and it's got no suspension mods at all. My front brakes are in pretty bad shape so I figure why resurface the crappy rotors and put crappy pads on under the crappy calipers when I have a good excuse to replace all of it. Does anyone have a Summit/JC Whitney/JEGS part number for any sort of kit, or even individual part numbers? I'd be VERY appreciative if you could even point me in the right direction or tell me what to look for.. I don't know who makes good brake kits besides Baer, and I can't find Baer in the manufacturer's list on Summit so I can't search them....and I did a search for brakes and got more than I could bare to look through. Thanks everyone.

SSBC (stainless steel brakes company, I think) has a descent setup. Several places offer complete 1LE conversion kits as well. You just have to shop around to see whats in your price range. If you are interested in Baer, Thunderracing.com is a great place to check out Baer products as well as other brake-related products. Also, check out spohn performance. I believe they just came out with a 1LE brake kit. By the way, you can get to both places I mentioned by going to the top of this page. Good Luck!

Wow..the 1LE kit is EXPENSIVE...I dont have nearly that budget. I've got maybe, including installation, $300-$400. Maybe I'll just stick with slotted/cross drilled rotors and titanium pads and leave the calipers for later....

Thunder Racing is a godsend! I just went through their suspension section and wow....didn't realize there was so much to upgrade....whew. Lol...first, brakes...then, sfc's and shocks. Then, springs..then...who knows.

Your much better off saving the few hundred more and buying the 1LE setup...

The 1LE is THAT good?? Only problem is..my brakes are getting worse by the day..I NEED a brake job. My rotors are badly warped, and my pads are getting down there... I doubt I'll be able to save up that much money at once any time in the near future... I'm just not making that kind of money...I can barely make my bills sometimes, and I'm living with my dad! Granted I'm a sr. in high school but still....

Then i'd just get a set of decent pads and some stock replacement rotors, the main problem in our brakes, is the tiny diameter of the rotors, which the 1LE solves.

I noticed how small they are... I suppose you could put bigger rotors on and they'd fit, but then you'd have to increase pad size to see an improvement..and to increase pad size, you have to swap the calipers.....damn. I'm gonna get some great pads, and some cheap JC Whitney cross-drilled rotors for the looks alone..they're like $60 or so each. But if anyone knows of cheaper cross-drills anywhere, let me know please!
