Eibach pro kit...exactly how low?
I'm in the market for aftermarket springs, and I hear from alot of people that KYB shocks/struts and the pro kit are great for the street. The only problem I have is that I don't want my car any lower than it is now, someplaces I have problems scraping in driveways. Can anyone with the prokit measure the distance from the ground to center of the front bumper?

About an inch. It porbably wont lower it much at all. Most of the cars have the original springs in them, they are sagged and worn out.

I just installed a set of Eibach pro kit springs on a customers 88 IROC, it sets about an inch lower than it did with the stock springs.... Not too low, but it is noticeable.

i didnt notice any drop after installing my ProKit and new (thicker) GM spring isolators (replaced 145K mile springs), but i am still happy with the ride and handling quality, and i didnt really want my car lowered anyways.

How do the companies measure their "Drop", anyway? Comparing their springs against new stock springs that haven't settled yet? They -should- compare them against 100,000 mile springs.

TomP, thats why I wanted to ask someone to actually measure the distance from the ground to the front bumper, I'm not sure if the drop is in relation to new springs, or the old sagged ones. If the prokit leaves my car at about the same height, then I'll get it. If it lowers it, then I need to get moog springs or something like that. Some people with a late 80s car say they dropped an inch almost, and some with a 91 or 92 say it didn't do anything when they replaced their old springs.

if your worried about your car dropping then just get a new set of stock springs. I have a stock set out of a 91z28 that have 30K miles on them. There yours for $60

That looks like it's around stock ride height - maybe even higher. It sure sits higher than my 83TA with 100K on the springs.
Do you know the distance from the fender lip to the ground - I think stock is about 27 inches.
I'm installing a ProKIt and this new GM isolator business is worrying me.

I did not take a tape measure with me when I went over to take these pictures... Sorry. The car is far from being too low, and it rides / handles very well.

Those tires are 245/50/16 BFg's .... The rubber spring isolators were not replaced, so they are a little flatter than new ones would be.

25.6 inch wheel then - same height as my 275/40/17s
I hope my old isolators aren't trashed because they're going back in.

I have an 88 w/the same springs. I have 245-50-16's on there now and the car sits pretty close to the tire. Don't get me wrong, the car handles like its on rails and looks MEAN but the ride quality sux. If you don't mind shakin a few fillings loose get them.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm definitely getting the pro kit. My car has stock springs and is as low as those pics are. They are definitely sagging.

Front 1 inch
Rear 3/4 inch.
Looks great.
Side note, if u can afford it get better shocks/struts, worth every penny once u experince it :-) Never thought jumping to Bilsteins would make my day but I will never go back.
While doing the suspension stuff check out the strut bearing and replace them, they always get overlooked on our cars
