Braking Problem, Gurus Wanted!
Braking Problem, Gurus Wanted!
Hey guys, I am the proud new owner of a 1988 Camaro SC with an implanted L98
. Since I've had this car for the past three weeks, it has pulled hard left when I apply the brakes. I noticed the passenger/front caliper was locked up, and replaced the rotor, caliper, pads, and both inner and outter wheel bearings. It still pulled left, plus my pads are smoking. I'm not driving the car at the moment, due to the fact that I don't want to fry the pads. This past weekend, I replaced the combination valve, still no luck-still smoking and still pulling to left. I think it might be the rubber line that goes to the caliper. Do you guy's have any suggestions? I can't start driving my new playtoy untill this is fixed...(sniff, sniff).

yes i can about garantee its the rubber line. They can calapse when they get old. So when u press of the brake its fine then when u let off it calapses on itself not lettin the fluid back through.

Change the line. Sorry you had to change almost everything else before you knew this. It's one of the cheap parts.

Change the hoses on BOTH sides - why have a brand new one with high tolerances and an older one that will also give way soon?

Quick Question- Would a colapsed brake hose be the culprit for a hard to bleed brake? When I bleed this one, it barely gives any fluid.
Absolutely...that's your problem.
