Brake Line Flaring

I just installed my Bear Adjustable Prop Valve, and boy was it a mother. I had to go to four auto parts stores to get the right adaptors to plumb the front circuit of the master cyl to the front two brake lines and I could not find any adaptors for the rear circuit. The Prop Valve instructions said to cut the lines, slide on the new fittings and "flare" the lines. I could not get two different flaring tools to make a double flare so I settled for a single flare. I was just wondering if a single flare is enough to keep the lines sealed? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Folding the line on itself before making the tapered seat. All prefabed brake lines are "double flared".

single flare won't hold up under preasure, that's why the lines are double flared. my double flare kit is made by snap on and works every time.

If you buy a flaring tool, make sure it is designed for steel line. Some that are sold are made for flaring soft tubing like copper and just won't work on steel tubing.

I said to hell with the flaring and just fabbed up all new lines to the rear. I know the prefabbed stuff is way better than anyone could make with a flaring tool. Ede, I will have to look into a Snap-On, Matco, Mac, flaring tool. The ones I tried were KD and Craftsman, both poopie.

Thanks for the help, Mike
