Air bags

I'm thinking about useing airbags up front and rear on my camaro, but want to know if anyone else has some. Also how would this effect handling? I want to get into road racing and auto cross but don't want to find out airbags arn't any good after i bought them..

running air bags (with individual lines and all that for each bag) is like running full race springs. Due to the fact that they dont really compress. The rides gonna be harsh but your handling may increase...although absolutely no body roll and suspension travel is bad too.

alright, by the sound of it, bags are out.. (going to be a daily driver) and there are other places i could put the money. i'm going to be doing some upgrading soon, on the list is a 10 point mild steel cage, subframe connectors, Spohn sway bars, tubular steering brace, upper strut mount, Polyurethane Bushings, Eibach Pro Performance Lowering Springs, and Koni Special "Reds" Shocks & Struts. the only thing i'm not to sure about are the Eibach springs.. i'm also toying with the idea of a tubular k-member and a-arms, i've heard good and bad about these.. whats your out look on them?

Wow you got a nice set up plan there...I would also suggest some tubular LCA's and also an adjustible panhard bar. And if you want a torque arm...they all really help too with handling.

as for hte k member...I too have heard alot of bad things about them. Yet also alot of good things...but in the end considering they cost like $450-600 and only shave about 15lbs off the car...I dont need it that much. But as for the a arms that I'm going to do. Since that will make a noticable difference in handling and also lighten the car (ever so slightly)

i just added tubular LCA's, adjustible panhard bar, and a torque arm (when i get a t5 to replace my 700r4) to my list.
oh, and REVLIMIT, how the hell did you get sideways like that for your sig pic?

Photoshop [edit] uhh... on further inspection... if it IS photoshop, it's damn good. I can't really tell for sure... [/edit]

Nice mod list... almost exactly what I plan on doing. a 10-pt cage is really overkill though.

well, i really don't want to find out that a 6 or 8 point wasn't quite enough while going 150 - 180+MPH... i want to run the unlimited class in the Silver State Challenge once i complete every thing i'm planing to upgrade (basicly the whole car) and have a few other races under my belt.

what? haha...nah the only photoshop work done to my sig pic is the shadow around the edges of hte picture. The drift is real. I came up down a straight away at about 85mph kicked the clutch to break it out one way then slid it the otherway pulling hte ebrake everynow and then to keep the line and keep the angle correct. I did the first break out about....alittle more then half a 1/8 mile away from the turn

Car: too many ...
It was a real drift. No trick photography there. I wouldnt trust roadracing on airbags. The rubber is thick, but there is nothing to stop lateral movement. Pull around 1 g and they are bound to flex laterally causing voilent weight transfer. Airbags are great for controling ride height from inside the car. They also ride real nice (like a caddy!) but not designed for roadracing. Would you chance it at .. um ... 150 - 180 mph (lol)? I wouldnt.
