how to jack it up
Can someone show me a picture of where to put the bottle jack to jack the car up. I have 2 jack stands, and i want to change the struts on the front of the car. My dad doesnt want me to jack it up, but hes being dumb and we can just never get around to doing it, and im sick of just staring at the car. This needs to be a completely safe opperation, so make sure what you show me to do is pretty safe

Behind the front wheels there will be a metal piece coming out of the framerail. Put the jack there. If you follow the framerail back a few inches under the car you can put the jackstand there, as close as you can get it to the jack without them being on top of one another. There should be pics in your owners manual.

im not to sure about on the frame rails, depends on your jack stands, if i do front end work i usually use 2 on the front chassis (where the engine mounts are bolted to) seems more sturdy, i have never put them on the frame rails, but i very well could be doing it a work more unsafe way
Man I wouldn't use a bottle jack, too much pressure on a small area. If you're going to be doing most of the work on your car, do you're self a favor now and get a decent 2 1/2 or 3 ton FLOOR jack.
yeah a floor jack is a good idea, i was using a cheapo jack from a local parts store for a while but when my dad decided to buy me and my brother tools we got a nice 3 1/2 ton floor jack from sears came with two jack stands also.

jack
I bought 2 jackstands,.... and then from a chain store bought a 2.5 ton floor jack and 2 jack stands for about $60 CAD..
so it's pretty cheap... I keep a bottle jack in the car for emergencies only...
and then I just jack up under the front cross member.

where to jack the car
hi...I use the sway bar mounts up front with a 2 1/2 ton floor jack, and the trailing arm mounts at the frame in the rear..the unit body makes it tricky...alomost put the jack thru the floor first time...

Ya sway bar mounts aren't exactly the best place use the spot just behind the oil pan before the exhaust this is the subframe piece alot safer. Yea just get a good pfloor jack it will last awhile and you dont have that though constantly going through your head if your going to be tasting chassis soon or not.

Maybe you would consider getting SFC's installed.
Then you could jack the car up anywhere along the SFC rail.
