Took a corner hard- now passenger side wheel rubs..
I didn't take it stupidly hard, at least no harder than the average spirited drive... After taking the left hander I heard a rubbing from the rear arch. The next day I jacked up the rear by jacking up the left side on the sfc. The wheel rubs on the front of the wheel arch.... I have hit the bottom in with a hammer a bit just to help out, but fear the problem may be a bit deeper!
I am at a loss at why- would it/could it be the panhard rod? The car is lowered and I am running 255's.
Please help, I'm supposed to be taking it to the track this weekend!
PS I had just installed my alum. driveshaft....
Cheers,
Felix

Update.
I banged the arch out nearest the door and put the wheel back on. Seemed to be a 10mm gap. I recoated the bit I'd hit with a hammer and put the wheel back on. I then put the car down again off the jack and felt again. 1-2 inches gap??!?
I am stumped. Any ideas? Could it have been a one off around that corner as the car is lowered?
Please help,
Felix

any chance you could picture of where the rubbing is happening.
or a picture of the rear suspesion. it is possible that either a LCA or the panhard got damaged, and the rear is no longer in the potion it should. what is the potion of the wheel on the other side?

I'm at work so sadly can't get a pic to you at the moment. It is the bottom of the front of the rear well and it touched the inner extreme of the tire. The positioning of the wheels looks spot on when on the ground on both sides.... If a bush has gone what would I be able to see?
Thanks,
Felix

that movement would be from the LCA on that side of the car, not the panhard. i would pull that LCA off, and make sure it is not bent, and look at the bushings.
i don't know what used parts availability is like in the UK, but if you can you might try to find a new LCA, and then get poly pushings for both control arms. the new bushings will be a nice little upgrade at the same time.

you never know, sometime the smallest things break things.
before you spend money, i would pull it off, and inspect it

How many Kms on it?
Because a hard corner wouldnt bend it, but alot of miles and a good hit on a curb would. If it is bent there may be some tire wear issues, you may want to pop both rear tires off and compare them. And if they arent unidirectional rotate them for good measure.
Good luck!

Only 26k. I pushed the car hard from side to side and had my wife put her hand between the 2 offending areas to see if it crushed her hand
It didn't so we are still Married... Seems it may well have been a one off! I think longer term an adjustable panhard is the way to go.
