17inch Z06 rims? help

Yeah this question is overdone but I need all the help I can get.

Z06 rims 17X9.5 with 275/40/17 all the way around, so what kind of wheel adapters do i need, I have a 90 iroc disc brakes in the front and drum in the rear.

I'm guessing 2inch spacers all the way around? suggestions would be helpfull.
Thanks

Have you already tried them on the car? I don't know much about the vette rims, but I was about to buy some boyd coddington wheels that are 17x9.5 and use 275/40/17's up front and 285/40/17's in the back. I was told by shop.sportruck.com that they would fit fine. Maybe it has something to do with the Vette rims? Interested to see if anyone else has had a problem like that.

Oh the rims have the same offset as the 4th gen camaro so 2inch adapters are the ones needed, come on someones gotta know?

So 2inch adapter on the front and back?

I just bought some 18x9.5 Z06 wheels from AFS...according to Andris Skulte http://www.skulte.com/adapterfaq.html You would need 2.25" for the front, and I am not positive about the rears cause I have a 4th gen rear, but as far as I know, you will need 2" for the rear...check out the link and see for yourself...

what is the offset?

personally i would go with 8.5 fronts seeing as your sticking with the 17's it makes it much easier if you want to lower your car any as well as tires are cheaper.

i have 18's all around and while i like them i'd like to sell them.

good luck to you.

The offset is 56mm, and I bought them off of ebay from AFS Wheels. I didn't want chrome, but I got such a good deal on them($617.00) I couldn't let myself pass it up cause I have wanted these wheels for forever...I have read your other posts and seen some pics of your car about the wheels, your car looks really good and I don't know why you aren't happy with the way it looks...And also, AFS doesn't make the Z06 wheel in a 17", only 18x9.5".

afs does make 17's. $617 isn't bad, did they come with tires? the average price new from a good company will be 800-900 for the 17's and a few more for 18's. couple more if you go 18x10.5. the biggest problem with afs is the quality of the wheels, however sometimes people get lucky and in that case you will save alot of money.

main reason i'm not happy with my wheels is because i like my car lowered and i can't do that now because of the width of the wheels.....it sounded like a good idea at the time and the tires definately are aggressive over the stock but not being able to lower the car the way i want just doesn't work so i'm ditching them as soon as possible.

pimpmaster, you won't have a problem with 9.5s however the idea is kind of pointless....personally i'd go with like i said above. using something around a 255 width tire with the proper sidewall percentage like a 40. this way you won't have fitment problems. 17x8.5's come in offsets that will practicly bolt up and you'll have less weight and rubber to push which won't slow you down. if you feel it necessary to go wide in the back throw a 9.5 with something like a 275/40. if you aren't going to go lower then the typical 1" drop you can fit the 9.5/10.5 combo with no problems. however you had better have some horsepower as it takes alot to push them.

good luck.

So your saying the I should go with 275/40/17 all the way around? Because I already have sportlines on the car. I already have the rims 9.5 wide front and back. I just need some tires to fit.

if you have sportlines and are running 9.5's with no problems they you should be fine wether it's 18 or 17". the tires are what make the difference as far as rubbing and a 245/45 on a 17 just isn't good. i'd stick with tires that are meant for that width and a 275 is perfect 40 for 17 and 35 for 18.

i'm saying 9.5 up front is to wide for a 2" or lower drop and have no problems without modifying some pieces. however, i prefer the look of the 18" z06 wheel over the 17 as it's quite different so it all depends on what your trying to do. for me i wouldn't have them any other way but i don't like not being able to lower the car so they have to go.

Hmm i been wanting the zo6 rim for awhile now but dont know what size to go with. I was thinkin 17 because maybe it would ride better. I like the 9.5 inch wide wheels but i dont wont to modify nething. Arent alot of people running firehawk rims with lowered cars.

why don't they fit?

mine fit fine...all i'm saying is you can't possibly drop the car as low as you like with some major modifications meaning movment of your suspension pieces. i have mine just inside the fender and the only way to run a 2" with no suspension mods would be to tight roll the fender lip or cut it which i won't do.

anything can fit if you really want it to. my biggest gripe is what's the point of having such a wide tire? unless your autox it slows you down on the street causing you more headaches. sure it's impressive to look at but it has it's ups and downs.

It's probally the 2inch drop, with the sportlines, it rubs the shock.

Just kidding about selling the iroc, I guess I'm gonna buy the 17x8 Iroc's. hopefully it will be a better fit.
