Noise form front driver side help???

Noise form front driver side help???

ok i have asked this befor in a different thread that wasn't started fromme and i never got my ??'s anwered anyways my program is on the front driver side area.... first off let me start by saying this... i have replaced the fron spring that was broke, new pads and need new end links. but ever fine i have a bump in the road it makes a noise like metel on metal sound. but when i hit the brakes VERY VERY lightly the sound goes away. from what i have read it sounds liek it could be the pads are lose... but what i want to know is could my problem be that my rotor is to worn out??? i dind't check the side of the rotors what idid the brake job cuz the rotors didn't look like "Soup cans" any idea's??? but the noice is pissing me off and the ricers are amkeing fun of me :-( LoLwhell theywhere till all they saw was my tail lights :-D

I read on another thread that the caliper guide pins or bushings could be bad. Hope this helps.

It's probably caused by loose pads. Either on the inboard one that has the clip that goes inside the piston, the clip is missing, broken, or not in the piston right, in which case you can just buy new clips for a couple of pennies; or the outboard pad was put in without bending the tangs in that retain it to the caliper, so it's free to just flop around out there. It's possible that it's the pin but more likely it's the pads. Take it apart and look. You can see it better that way than we can over the Net.

does that mean its going to be new caliper time? or are the parts serviceable?

You can buy new pins, bushings and clips at any parts store. By the way, calipers are about $14 from NAPA.

if i'm going to get new calipers i'm going to go find a two piston set up for the front then. but i will take a look at the driver side brake system today and tell you when i can find.

You where right... the bushings where shot... costed me $5.00 to fix the problem and 15mins of work. :-D
