e brake cable on a 4th gen rear
i doin the swap over to a 4th gen rear end and i really have no clue onn how to hook up the new e brake cables. anybody have pics or anything else nething is welcoe at this piont.
it is car specific , do a search , some people opted to make a L shaped plate with two holes for the cables , others bought different length cables
here's what I did... mine is a 85TA/V8/auto
my cables were too long (4th gen rear from a 95firebird)
the bracket that holds the two cable ends slides over a long adjustment bolt , at the end of the bolt is a square part where you can hold it with a wrench, and it also acts as a bumpstop for the bracket , well if you remove the bracket and drill the hole out a little bigger you'll be able to slide it about an extra inch back , not the ideal solution but that's all I needed to get my ebrake adjusted, of course then they hanged and banged on the driveshaft so I used to homemade brackets to hold them to the tranny tunnel , or you could ziptie them to the two little tabs that are already welded to your tranny tunnel.
hope this helps.

ok i went down to sears hardware and bought some 3/32" s/s cable about 2-3 feet will do. i bought 3 feet so i can mess around. i also 6 crimps just in case. you only need four. i took the cable and made a really tight loop around the old cable. then i crimped it so it would not come out. then put it in the old braketr and made a make on where it is. took it out and made another crimp in the cable. then putit up there to make sure i did it ok, once that was doen i made another installed them and then tightened up the old braket. good as new. i can't test them out cause i'm waiting for the shocks to get here. and gotta go pick up the brakle rotors.

Is there any way to loosen the brake cable? As you can see in my picture there is about 4 inches of distance between the cables and the t-bracket they need to reach. Jusding from the picture I seem to have less slack from the brake lever.
