why couldnt there be a posi in a 1991 car? if your code says you got it then you probably have it. Havent posis been around for a long *** time already?

Mine originaly had 2.93 w/limited, so it's not out of the question.
However the '82 only had a 3 speed with lockup...

I doubt it, he has an rs guys. They didn't have limited slip. It was either 2.73 open for the autos or 3.08 open for the manuals.

wrong.. they COULD be ordered with it... however, most RSs dont havedecient gears, or posi-traction.. but its not totally out of the question.

oh ok, well that explains it. I believe all Z28s and irocs had limited slip from the factory. Nothing real shocking about it.

Not all of them. Example: you could get an Iroc with a 305 TBI, 15's, and a drum rear without posi.

The first limited slip was made in the 20's IIRC. (I read that somewhere.)

And posi's do wear out, too... especially if you've ever driven for more then a few miles on that temporary spare. That'll wear the posi out quick. Solution = put the temp spare on the front, and put the full sized front tire on the rear. Of course all 4 tires have to be the same size...

Sure they do. I know a guy who has a 5-speed L03 RS with G80 in his RPO codes.

No unless it was the G92 package it was an option on all Z28's and IROC's. My old '89 Vert was an open drum rear....
