Autocross car improvements
I went auto-x ing for the first time last weekend in a Solo II event. It was the funnest ****. Now i want to know what performance mods can be made to the chassis and suspesion to give the greatest handiling performance. What is the best mod, i already have subframes and a home-made strut tower brace. I was thinking of building new adjustable panhard rod, torque arm and lower rear control arms. Any ideas?
Thanks

Of the higher ticket items in order:
Tires/Wheels (I suggest at least 16x8 wheels with Kumho Victorracers 245/45/16)
Shocks (I like Koni Sports, but Bilstien are also good)
Sway Bars (I have Spohn sway bars)
Other things to look for:
Get a performance oriented front end alignment.
A limited-slip diff in good working order.
Maintain the bushings. Poly's are good if you can put up with the squeaking, GM 1LE's are softer but good. I have a combination of both.
Good steering components and a Steering brace (wonder bar).
With your next brake job install performance pads, like Hawk HP+. Bigger brakes are only really necessary if your going to go to track days.

also get a rule book, make sure that you do modifications that are allowed for the class you want to run.
and like the auto-x'ers always say, the BEST thing that will make you faster is lots of seat time.

dewey nailed it, get the rule book first, that way you don't modify yourself into some class with vettes and vipers, the fun will go away real quick then.

I have the rule book, and i can do alot, i already have subframes so i will have to run in the Street Modified class anyway if i get serious. But right now i just want to have fun weekend driving in Street Prepared and hope they don't see or care about my subframe connectors.
