Spohn stuff sqeaks A LOT??

Spohn stuff sqeaks A LOT??

I just put in Spohn SFC, LCAs w/ brackets and Panhard bar

It's all the poly bushings, but DAMN does this crap squeak. It's like I stopped the squeaking t-tops, but now my rear suspension picks up the slack. Anybody else had this problem or now how to stop it?

that's a good reason why people don't like them. the bushings are great for their intended purpose for racing but on street cars they are harsh and noisy. they definately have their ups and downs. best bet is to make sure they are lubricated properly on ones that are suppose to and enjoy.

thats wierd they squeak even with the grease. maybe they made the polly stiffer use more lube

I have the Rear LCA's, Panhard Bar with Poly bushings and SFC's and if anything they got rid of my squeaks & rattles. The car is tighter now then when it was new (orignal owner of 87 IROC).:hail: To Spohn Parts.

I know my Spohn LCA are REALLY squeaky too. I'll try double dosing the grease when I put the rear end back in and see what happens.

Always pre grease the parts before you install them. You put it together then just shoot grease into the zerk and it wont distribute to all sides. Also tighten things down only at ride height.

So I should try to grease the outsides and the insides and the little groment thing? I just did the gromet thingie. I guess I'll go yank them out and grease the part that comes in contact with the bracket.

I use synthetic oil. 15-50 Mobil 1 in a small pump can with a nozzle. No noise what-so-ever. First tried synthetic gear lube but the stench was too much. Maybe MTL would work too, w/o the smell.

Just put a few drops on each bushing and the squeaks are gone. I've found that most of the squeaking is from the sides of the bushings rubbing.

i had some noise after my stuff, i put more greese in them after installed and i also lossened up the bolts and nuts holding the pandhard and lca's in, i seem to tighten down nuts and bolts too hard and i think i was binding the poly bushings to much.

now noise seems to be almost gone, and now i have a firmer ride so its worth it.

I use the energy suspension lube and don’t have any squeaks. It seems to stay in there a lot better then the lube I got from Spohn.

I don't have Spohn parts, but I redid my front suspension with ES bushings. The instructions in the pack said to disassemble the bushings, lube all surfaces, then put them back together. I pounded the center sleeve out of the poly bushing with a hammer and punch. Then I pounded the poly out of it's outer shell with a piece of pipe and a vise. Lubed the poly and metal completely with the white/clear/supersticky grease, and put them back together- no squeaks.
