Seems logical - are bolt-in sub-frames better than none?
Like I said, seems like it makes sense that bolt-in's would be better than none at all, but some of you with more experience with f-body chassis may think otherwise - what's your argument?
Reason I ask is because I don't know how to weld but I want to learn how AND I'm concerned about doing what I can to preserve my 77k mile chassis right now. I'd rather learn how to weld (for other reasons aside from just sub-frames) and then do the work on my car on my own. It's posible to weld up bolt-ins isn't it???
Also, maybe you all can help with this - there is a guy on ebay that sells sub-frames for f-bodies - user name is dshop2000 - anyone used his products? The plan was to buy a set of his bolt-ins to hold me over until I can reinforce them by welding them in.
What do you think on this?
Thanks, K

yes, bolt-in SFCs are better than none. I've had them on my 4th Gen SS for 4 yrs now. They'll get welded in after the ext'd warranty expires.
My 3rd Gen T/A has them welded, since it's my track car and I had the manufacturer (Spohn) weld them in when I went and picked them up. Never heard of the ones you mentioned.
Just be sure that you have the suspension 'loaded' when you put them in, welded or bolted.

I'd like to get bolt ins then later welded on. How much would it cost to have them welded?

welding is a service provided locally, so it would depend on where you went to have the work done.
you install the bolt in SFC's then find a shop to weld them in.
