Alston SFCs, got a problem

Has anyone experienced a tough fit on the passenger side Alston bolt-in SFCs? I got them through Lon @ TDS on the GP and it seems like it may have slipped in the jig because the front mounting cup seems to be tilted 10-15* outward.

The driver's side fit in like a glove, but I've fought with the passenger side for a couple of hours right now with no luck. If I was welding them I'd have no problem cutting it off and trying to re-fab it, but I'm just bolting them on for now [only have a wire feed, no MIG].

Any hints are definately appreciated. Thanks guys.

Where did you guys buy them and when?

Just trying to figure out of it's a new problem. Alston supposedly changed the setup recently.

Alston fitment problem

Has anyone contacted Lon to see if this is an isolated problem with just this batch? Dave

i did, i dont want to start any problems but. i was told... "no one else has complaind about fitment problems with these SFCs, your car could have possibly been in an accident that tweaked the subframes and to contact alston because TDS only distributes them and doesnt manufacture them, never heard anything from alston tho"

The only problem I had (if you can even call it that, since it wasn't even that big of a problem) was getting it up over the exhaust on the pass. side. It fit the frame rails snug, which it should, but a rubber mallet was all that was needed to get 'em on for welding.

Bought 'em from Lon in 9/2003.

new guy here, thought i'd thrown in my two cents. ran into the same problem on passenger side of my 83. floor jack under the mounting cup of the sfc seemed to do the trick though, squeezed them right in place.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot if I don't hear from Mike @ Alston soon. I figure if I have to drive to Alston to swap out connectors, I might as well see how much they want to weld them in.
