Eibach or IROC?

Which springs will give me better handling, 86 IROC springs or an Eibach kit (Sportline or Pro Kit?)

probably the eibachs, the irocs are most likely very worn out.

using worn springs is almost as stupid as using a worn oil filter.

I think he means new OEM replacement Springs for an 86 Iroc.
The Eibachs will be better than new OEM stuff, but they require that you lower your car a little. Unless you compensate with some sort of spring spacer (there a specific term I am looking for?)... if you lower the car by using the Eibachs, you might decrease handling quality a little until you get lower control arm relocator brackets & complimentary shocks/struts.

IMHO you are better of with OE replacements, that are trimmed

there is a thread where chickenman gives a good rundown on it, i will search and try to find it.

***EDIT****

I've heard great things about Moog replacement springs but I don't know the part numbers. Supposedly just as stiff as stock Iroc springs but cheaper than the Eibachs.

FYI, I'm running Eibach Pro-Kit springs and I LOVE them. Can't go wrong there either.

You mean without losing tire to ground contact (not necessarily bad)?

"how fast" is a vague question... hard to answer. However, it breaks down like this kinda:

a.)
lowering springs - lowered center of gravity

b.) upgraded shocks/struts - more tolerance and resistance of force

c.)
boxed lca's and lca relocator brackets - better transfer of weight/ compensation for lowered center of gravity

This is only a rough explanation at best, but basically those three components compliment each other and would result in much better cornering over a stock setup ("how fast" you can turn or pull a full U-turn from a stop)

i got sportlines and they are great for the looks, but the car seems to handle a little worse than it did before , but when i changed the springs i changed the rear end and lca and panhard bar and put relocation brackets. The rear end weight probably 75 lbs more , so i dont know but i like how the sportlines look.

I hated my eibach prokit, they are softer than stock iroc springs and lower so the end result was that over bumpy pavement you were on the bump stops. I followed chickenman's advice and got moog 7665/7662 combo for 100 bucks and i am much happier. The only drawback to the moog's is that they must be cut to lower the car, as sold they will be the stock ride height.
