Rear end moves side to side..

I hit a turn and i can hear it clunk to one side.

I get out and kick it and it clearly moves side to side.

Its freaking me out. I think the panhard bar is causing it?

easy side to side action i would definitely look at the panhard bar area.

the top bracket could be loose that would be my guess off hand, missing a bolt or something it would most likely fall down after a while.

maybe look at your panard bars bushings...cause if it was loose would it be hanging or your tires would be rubing on the body. Are you sure its moving and that the sound is not coming from the front end...also cheak all your stabalizer bar link ends and straps that tie them to the cars body frt and rear if you got both. (i forget to look at your sig to see what car you drove)

Just a follow up for people searching;

It was the panhard bar. Apparently they require a HUGE torque on the bolt, like more than 80Ft Lbs if I remember correctly. It may have well been over 100Ft Lbs.

If the panhard bolt isnt that tight, the rear end will go "clunk" when you go around corners. if you push the rear of the car side to side it will wobble and go "clunk clunk" also. Simply tightening that bolt fixed it up.

Heh, I thought I was chasing the same deal but when I jacked the back of the car up I found that the driver’s side tire spun almost freely… I’m guessing I’ve got a broken axle, I’ll know when I pull the cover.
