vette rims?
do the c-5 rims fit our third gens? i'm talking about the 17" front, 18" rears.....are the bolt patterns the same? or is the difference just back space?

No they don't fit. Bolt pattern is the same. Backspacing is much different, they won't even come close to working. SO since you have to have spacers anyway, the bolt pattern really doesn't matter so much.

Typically you need 2' spcares all around. That depends thought because the offsets for stock vette wheels and aftermarket repo vette wheels differ dramatically. You have to find out if the vette wheel is a GM piece or an aftermarket piece.

Car: too many ...
I'm gonna be getting a set of OEM GM Z06 wheels off a 2001 Z06 pretty soon, and I had a question about the adapters. Skulte's website recommends 2.25" adapters for the fronts (17x9.5) and 2" adapters for the rear (18x10.5). I'm wondering if anyone has tried 2.25" adapters in the rear and the 18x10.5 Z06 wheels? I'm wondering if it will fit with a rolled lip, or if its really close, a rolled fender and lip? I wanna go with 2.25" adapters on all corners because I also have a set of 89 Corvette wheels (the 88-96 17x9.5's) and I'd like to be able to use both sets for daily driving if possible. If not, those 89 vette wheels will become drift wheels. Thanks!!
BTW, thanks for the props ShiftyCapone!

AFAIK, these are the only thin black 5spokes. All other black wheels are either grand sport ZR1's, or CE t/a wheels

not telling ya
there can be only 1! lol
I haven't had them on much. The car only came out for about 2 month with them on, then i took them off and put the stockers back on...engine started tapping, it's been sitting ever since...a year ago. I'm just now getting everything to redo the motor.
after that, knight rider stuff goes back on, and time for a new paintjob. these wheels will give me a nice ghostly look.
The tires are ok. They have alot of noise, and are friggin insanely priced ($315 ea. for the rears), so i doubt i'll replace them with the same tire when they wear out. when i had my sfc's installed, i spent a whole tank of gas taking it out in the woods and down the twisties...such fun!
bummer though, that I can't really find a drag radial to put on them. I'm going to have to step down to some 15-16's cragars or welds to run with.
speaking of bling, has anyone else seen the spinner HUBCAPS?! i mean..wtf is up with that?

hey n8man: c5 rims don't usually fit our 3rd gens...can you tell me what spacer/adapters you need? did you have to massage the wells out back for the 275's? also, are adapters safe to use? i plan to autocross mine and the thought of having an extra set of bolts holding the rims on scare me. i've seen lugs actually pulled through some rims!!!

2.25 all around looks just about perfect IMO. i think the 2" looks a lil tucked in.... not bad, but when you have a 3rdgen with the same rims and the 1/4" more sitting next to it, you can see the diff...

From what i've heard, they're pretty safe power wise, since they aren't spacers. the adapters are like hub extensions...i'll try to take pics this weekend.
Still though, when I take it to the track and have some stickies, i'm going to use smaller wheels with no adapters. better safe than sorry.

I use C5 wheels 17"/18". I use wheel adapters from skulte.com in the front and a 4th gen rear (no spacers needed).
I think 2.5" spacers would look best, I use a 2" front spacer and there is room for the extra 1/2" if you roll the fender lip.
Has anyone noticed excessive wheel bearing wear from running the spacers and vette/4thgen wheels? I would think more wear due to the offset and spacer.

there isnt any more wear... theres not even more stress.
the offset is the same as stock....
now if you were to take the stock rims, and use the spacers so they it stuck out like thoes ghetto lowrider "rollerskate" cars, you would get ALOT more wear and stress.
