i need spring help!!!!
alright guys, i am doing a v6-v8 swap in the end of the summer and i need to know what kind of springs to use. the car is a sport coupe camaro so it doesn't have ground effects. i am going with 15" 'fatties and skinnies' for wheels and tires and i would like to give it a mild rake. lowering the front end ever so slightly. here is the biggest deal. i want the car to have good street manners, but don't necessarily need to have great cornering capabilities. basically, i want a spring that will have the same rate as the stock spring with a lower ride height and cutting the springs is not an option. what are my options?

alright, i know that the guys on here are mostly into road racing or handling, but i really need to know this...would a set of used iroc springs work for what i need? thirdgenresources sells them for $75 for the set of four.

IROC or WS6 springs would to the trick. They won't lower the car much but they will help. Look at BMR and Hotchkis springs. They only lower the car 1". After than you have the pro kit (roughly 1.5") and even lower are sportilines and intrax (2"+).

Moog makes a good set of replacement springs for our cars, the part numbers were posted not too long ago, do a search and see what you get.

does anyone make a spring that is street/strip? something with a slightly softer spring rate, or am i going to be better off keeping the v6 springs in it. that would lower the front a little. the last car i had, i kept the v6 springs in it, but going around a turn to fast ended me in a ditch after going through two walls. should i sacrifice the corning that much and just learn to drive my car better?(ie, don't act like a road racer in a drag car) i am looking for more weight transfer but i don't want to go with an all out drag spring....
For what it's worth, if you leave the stock v6 springs in there, they will do what you want. I have heard of a lot of guys (especially drag racers) leaving the stock V6 springs in there because of the low spring rate. If you put V8 spring in it, they will bring the car to the stock ride height. Moroso makes front drag springs if you wanted to go that route.

yeah, i know, my dad has some sitting in his garage, but they are not for street use, and after the accident, i know why, they are just too light, i think that i may just leave the v6 springs in it.

my sport coupe was swapped a v8 in place of the original v6, and still has the v6 springs up front.
i don't like how the car handles in daily driving. i'm going with stock replacement 1985 iroc springs once the nice weather stays.
