replacement studs for strut mount retainers??

Does any one know where I can get replacement studs for the strut mount retainers?? I original broke off a stud and got a new retainer from a junk yard, but now a stud off that one has broken and I'd like to replace with a stronger stud. The local hardware and parts store have been no help. Thanks!!

You talking about that C-shaped piece of metal that goes in the wheelwell? If so, I'd just drill out the stud hole and replace it with a Grade 8 bolt of your choice.

I don't know exactly what the stud you're looking for looks like, but we use this place at work for all kinds of stuff:

I'm changing strut mounts this weekend...hopefully the studs in mine will cooperate.

lots of people make the mistake of trying to force those bolts on, but if iirc they only need 18 ft lbs

Yes ebmiller88, that is the part I am talking about. If I use a bolt, then I will have to have a sockets and both the nut and the bolt head under the fender well. I would like a stud like factory if possible.

I think the front end shop torqued the bolts correctly. They did not seem to hold the alignment well. Maybe to loose??

You could always have the bolts tack welded to the plate, that will take care of the underneath socket issue.
