9.5" width up front?

My wife works at a service station that sells wheels and tires. I was flipping thru some wheel books that are there and I found a wheel that I've NEVER seen on ANYTHING before. It is a 5 spoke, somewhat rounded spokes, like the SS/ZR1 rims, but its more deep dish.

Anyway, The only sizes available are 18x and 20s. I want to get a set of the silver 18's although they are one width, 9.5".

My hope was for front to be 18x8ish and rear to be 18x9.5 but it doesnt look like thats possible with this wheel. I did some more checking and the warehouse is RIGHT IN TOWN.

I can get the set for cost of $211/per no shipping needed. ANYWAY, these rims are offset for a 3rdgen from what I found out... Will the 18x9.5" rim fit all 4 corners? Will it look funny being that wide up front? My wife told me she will let me buy them with our tax refund!

Got any pics of 9.5" wide rims on a car?

ALSO: What would be the max width of the tire?

9.5 inches wide should fit fine... Depending on the offset. I run 10" wide jong bloed wheels with 285 40 17 firehawks. No modifications needed. you may have to roll the fender, some cars are just a little bit different. With 9.5 inches wide I would run no more than 275. It is up to you though.

Are you saying a 275 will fit without rubbing/modifications on an 18x9.5?

Depending on the aspcet ratio it should. I run 17x9 up front with a 26" tall tire without any rubbing at all. I am also lowered quite a bit as well.

I plan on lowering, not much but basically for some appearance and mostly for handling. I want to run a smaller width up front but unfortunately the company doesnt offer it in anything but 18x9.5"

DOES ANYONE HAVE 9.5" wide rim pics on the car?

Are you running spacers? The wheels Im looking at are supposedly offset for 3rdgens.

No spacers. My wheels to are specifically tailored for 3rd gens.

Problem: or is it?:

Patterns include:

5x5.5
5x135
5x5

Thats too big for a 3rdgen, correct? If so, DAMNIT!

I run 17x9.5" rims with 275/40/17 tires all around on my '89 Formula. They only rub a little on full lock at low parking lot speed.

Interesting, what back spacing are you guy running for the fronts with 9.5's.

I was going to try 10" I just want to be able to use the same tires on all four. Probably 295/50-15's

17x9.5's require a 5.5BS and you can run 275's in all 4 corners.

at leats TT2's require a 5.5BS to run 9.5's in all 4 with 275's

I thought it was pretty close with 5"BS. I test fitted one of my rear 10" with a 5"BS on the front, and doesn't hit any thing but I didn't try it lock to lock. It was also wheel only.
