loud creeking when i turn sharp
hey guys for as long as ive owned my car when ever i turn with the wheels at full lock in a direction i hear a creeking from the front end... what could this be? i know its somethign that has worn out with age but what is it right off so i know what to buy and have replaced? ball joints? thanx for the help guys... the car is up a little early for the winter due to hitting a deer and trahing my radiater, hood, driver side fender, head light bezil, and front clip is craked in two spots... i guess thats what you get when you are in a hurry and trying to get home doing 95 mph and then you hit a deer!
so i am rebuilding all the front end that was smashed and i remember that i herd that creekign when i was driving it before the deer insodent. lets just say i was very pissed about the deer cause it pushed my radiater support all the way back to the AC pump. but i got it all straitend back out by pulling it out with a polaris ranger:lala:
any way what should i buy to fix my creekign problem?

Belts? There's almost definitely a suspension problem. I have the same problem. Do a search on something like "cracking noise when turning," "creaking noise when turning," "noise when wheel turned to lock," or something along those lines.
I redid my entire front end (control arms, springs, struts, ball joints, control arm bushings, sway bar end links, and steering linkage), got and alignment, and I still have that noise.
When I did a little search, I found a few possibilities for the cause of the noise. (1) The bolts that hold the k-member to the body need to be tightened or replaced. (2) The steering stop point where the spindle hits the control arm needs to be greased. There are probably a few other ideas out there.
edit: Oh yeah, I just remembered another thing to check. Check for cracks where the steering box is bolted to the frame. Look into buying a wonderbar from TDS (see advertisment at the top of the page).

I'm sure someone has done a repair job. I'll do a search.
edit: search results

They keep talking about welding processes in this thread. Listen to the guys who say that mig/tig whatever are forms of arc welding. Someone keeps saying in this thread to use mig and not arc welding. MIG is a form of arc welding.
Also, if you can get a hold of a mag particle tester, it makes it really easy to find the cracks.
