Installing Lowering Springs
A few months ago i wasn't really thinking, and went ahead and ordered some eibach sportline lowering springs...I didnt' really know what I was getting myself into, all I knew was I just wanted my car to sit lower to get that cool stance...well now its time to get them on, and a shop said that it would be about 200 bucks to get them put on...is there a way to do them yourself? or a way that has less cost? I know you need a spring compressor to do it, and I was also told that if I take the whole strut off, and take it somewhere, it would be about 15 bucks to take the old spring off, and on with the new...what did you guys do when you put on your springs???

Follow my how to pages and you should be fine if you can swing a wrench OK..

i paid to have the fronts done and the rears are really easy to do . If you do the springs you should really do some new shocks and struts, esp with the sportline springs.

You can literally get the rear spings in and out in a matter of minutes. The fronts are a bit more tricky and you need to use precaution but just follow EB's instructions and you will be fine. You can rent spring compressors from AutoZone.

i did my springs today easy without a compressor even just have to be carefull on those fronts lots more pressure than the rears.
i put a safety chain on the fronts while i lowered the control arm just to be safe that it would not come blowing out and mess up my new paint.
rears drop right out once sway bar links were cut loose nad shocks unbolted.
rear is way easier than fronts but both can be done at home with proper hand tools and good penatrant oil.

I have the KYBs on both my cars and I'm very happy with them. If you have a bit more money, I'd go with Bilsteins period. If you choose the KYBs, run the GR2 struts and the Gas A Just rears. They're a great combo with the Eibach Pro Kit. Obviously there's better out there but they're good for the money.
